This song is coming back into the setlist for their 'Be Like The River' 10th Anniversary Tour - heading to Toitoi on Saturday, August 8th! Who's pumped to catch this one live?

This August our Assembly Concert Club is (temporarily) on the move to Functions on Hastings, same great event, different venue at Toitoi. And don't worry, we'll be back in the Assembly Ballroom as soon as possible!

This month we have the incredible Bannerman Duo, featuring the songwriting of Richie Setford, whose work over the past 30 years as performer, singer and guitarist has incorporated funk and soul (One Million Dollars), world music (Batucada Sound Machine), punk (The Brood) and indie electro-pop (Ziko).

Joining Richie is Paula Sugden, a cellist known for her versatile collaborations across classical and contemporary music, with a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Cello) from Victoria University. Paula met Richie Setford a year ago at Decibel Wines and very quickly joined with Hawkes Bay residents Andrew Gladstone (drums) and Campbell Burns (bass) to complete the new look Bannerman line-up.

This is emotionally affecting music, with songs that have a compelling and dynamic structure. They can be quietly dramatic, sweeping, disarming and melancholic. A sweet and sad undercurrent with just enough groove.

Assembly Concert Club: Bannerman | Toitoi - Functions on Hastings | Mon 3 Aug, 10:30am - 12:00pm
Tickets available now from our website or your local isite...

After causing laughter lines on the faces of more than 90,000 New Zealanders, acting legend Mark Hadlow ONZM (King Kong, The Hobbit, SNAG) and acclaimed writer and director Gregory Cooper (MAMIL, That Bloody Woman) are getting back in the saddle for one final ride.

WOBIL – Wise Old Bu**er In Lycra is the hilarious and heartfelt final instalment in the hugely popular cycling trilogy that began with MAMIL and continued with GOMIL. This time, the lycra may be tighter, the hills steeper and a few more wheels may be required to reach the finish line.

Join Wayne for the final stage of the Tour de Wayne, as favourite characters including Doru, the philosophical personal trainer, Pinarello, the Italian bike of nightmares, and Glen, Wayne’s ocker Aussie nemesis, return.

Packed with laughter, heart and Hadlow’s trademark physical comedy, WOBIL proves you’re never too old for one final ride – no matter how many wheels it takes to reach the top.
