Guy Williams - Rich people are stealing from you and blaming brown people and trans people and some people believe them aaahhhhhh!

Probably shouldn’t have given it all away in the title. Like most people I’ve been trying to figure out how the worst di*****ds have taken over everything with their insane bu****it. So I’ve read three books (mostly) (one was a graphic novel) and listened to five audio books (AT NORMAL SPEED) to try and figure out WHAT THE F**K IS GOING ON?

Calling all romantasy readers (and those who pretend it’s “just for the plot”)!

Buckle up for a wild evening of emotionally unavailable, thousand-year-old Fae with six packs, and down on their luck mortal women whose lives are about to change forever. Accompanied by a (brooding) live musician, expect an outrageous and hilarious action packed night of feisty heroes, revenge fantasies and faerie s**t. Chests will heave, lips will part and knees will go weak as we pay homage to fated mates, the power of magick, kingdoms in peril, enemies to lovers and at least one masquerade ball.

Join Criss Grueber, Dan Pengelly and Lizzie Tollemache (The Complete Voyage of the RMS Titanic, The Lord of the Rings in 90 Minutes) for the s*xiest, funniest show to ever strap on its fighting leathers.

Raunchy, adults only content. Strong language, smoldering and descriptions of kidnap, violence and kinky faerie s*x.

“Endlessly inventive, ridiculously energetic, child-friendly yet racier than an MP’s browsing history… Machine de Cirque has it all.”*

Completely alone in the world, a group of men set out to contact other survivors using a strange machine.

The problem? They’re far too easily distracted by their own flights of fantasy, competitive streaks and talent for getting themselves into perilous situations.

Direct from Québec, Canada, internationally acclaimed contemporary circus company Machine de Cirque arrives at Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival with a wildly inventive performance blending jaw-dropping acrobatics, live music, humour and physical comedy.

This August, Aotearoa’s hard rock juggernauts Devilskin will head to Toitoi, performing the entirety of their chart-topping 2016 album Be Like The River in celebration of its 10-year anniversary.

Released in 2016, Be Like The River debuted at #1 on the Official New Zealand Albums Chart, earned Gold certification, and secured the band the Aotearoa Music Award for Best Rock Artist in 2017. The album cemented Devilskin as one of the country’s most dominant live acts - a reputation they’ve only strengthened over the decade since, notably taking home the People’s Choice Award at the Aotearoa Music Awards just last year.

From their breakout Double Platinum debut We Rise through to their latest #1 album RE-EVOLUTION , the Hamilton quartet have become a defining force in New Zealand rock.

Fronted by the voice of Jennie Skulander , alongside bassist Paul Martin, drummer Nic Martin, and guitarist Nail , Devilskin have spent the past 15 years relentlessly touring and carving out an international reputation.

They’ve shared stages with artists including Mötley Crüe, Disturbed, Halestorm, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Airbourne and Coheed and Cambria.

Be Like The River 10th Anniversary New Zealand Tour coming to Toitoi August 8th.
Tickets on sale Monday 8 June, 12pm NZST.

Social Animal - Part of the LYAO festival!

Joe Quigley loses everything, only to get a dog. That he hates.

Stephen Papps (“patent mastery…extraordinary” - Theatreview) arrives fresh from a hit Wellington season in this solo tour de force.

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks… can you?

Aging actor extraordinaire Joe Quigley is on the brink of filming the twelfth season of hit cosy-crime drama Parks when a single, careless remark shatters his career, marriage and carefully curated public image.

Then a stray greyhound follows him home.

Can Quigley find room in his heart for an ill-disciplined animal with insecurity issues almost as big as his own? As he navigates a growing sense of irrelevance, he’s forced to confront the question he’s spent a lifetime avoiding: who is he without the applause?

Can the colourful community of dog walkers he meets help him rebuild what he’s broken - or will the glittering promise of one last shot at glory send him hurtling towards disaster?

Biting satire and theatre wizardry fuse as award-winning actor Stephen Papps inhabits a rich menagerie of characters - human and canine alike.
