It was a BBQ masterclass with Dan from Heavy Kettle Smokers and Brendan from The Smoking Meathouse that got us properly hooked on BBQ, and Dan has been front and centre at every Urban BBQ so far.

A self-confessed Weber Barbecues Australia/New Zealand addict, Dan is back in combo with The Classic Butcher doing all things steak, up at 2:30 on the PlaceMakers Hawke's Bay Demo Stage.

A match made in meat heaven.

The always entertaining chilli eating comp has now been renamed as the Hairy Beast Chilli Eating Comp.

The beast has always been in full attendance, but now the good sorts at Lakeman Brewing Co are stepping up to the plate with a winner takes all prize of $125 cash and $125 of Lakeman credits to spend on whatever the winner sees fit.

Perhaps a refreshing order of Primate Pilsner to cool the fire πŸ”₯
