Here’s a quick FAQ to help get you ready for Waitangi Day Family Celebration!

While some stalls may offer EFTPOS, we recommend bringing cash just in case. You can also buy $5 coupons from Ngati Kahungunu Iwi stall next to the stage. No service fees. You can use these at all other stalls.

With 50+ stalls spread across the main arena, there’s plenty to explore and heaps of shade in the grandstand!

We have two outdoor screens for close up action on stage.

It's going to be epic, it's free entry, free parking & free Mahons Thrill rides. Performers line up tomorrow.

Waitangi Day Family Celebrations Thursday 6 February 2020. Free entry.

On 6th February 1840 the Treaty of Waitangi was signed by Māori chiefs and representatives of the Crown at Waitangi, Bay of Island. Local Kahungunu chiefs Te Hapuku, Waikato and Harawira Mahikai signed the treaty 23 June 1840 on board HMS Bunbury at the mouth of the Ngaruroro River, Clive.

Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Inc in conjunction with Hastings District Council will celebrate the occasion with a free, fun, sport and entertainment filled family day, one of the largest national day events in New Zealand.

Bring a picnic blanket along and set yourself up in front of the stage, or sit in the covered grandstand and enjoy a Hawke’s Bay summer’s day.

Lots of free parking in the grounds.
