🏍️Tony Tomasi will not be competing in the Greymouth Motorcycle Street Races this month, but his bike will be on show at the Regent Theatre/library.
Over 20 bikes, including one from the Mike Pero museum, will be on display during a two-day static Motorbike Show over the Street Race weekend.
Tony has competed in over 25 races, but is out this year due to injury. However, he has kindly offered up his KTM 390cc RC for display. He has raced it in Greymouth in recent years.
“I compete for the fun of it, the challenge. The start is the most challenging, with everyone going into the first corner.”
The static show opens to the public on Saturday, October 24, from noon to 9pm. This is the day before the street races.
On race day itself, Sunday, October 25, the doors will be open from 10am to 5pm. Please note the usual road closures will be in place.
Entry is a gold coin donation, and all proceeds go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.
For those who love the thrill of a ride, we will also have a bucking bull for people to try.
A few bikes will be on display at the old library too.
