Big love to the BH whanau. Mid Feb. This is the weekend we've all gathered and danced. Reminscing on all the glorious, and not so glorious, BH Sunday stories today.

We're still in existential mode here.
Still without a solid new base to call home.
Still dreaming of a return in 2027.

We'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, our mates at Wellspace have bit of a banger going on in 2 weeks. Plenty of familiar names that have filled BH schedules in the past.

Our hearts are so full as we finally share this beautiful collective of artists, facilitators, musicians, and space-holders gathering by the river this February.

We’ve poured so much care into curating a diverse, soulful programme — bringing together some of the very best in their fields to guide workshops, hold space, share knowledge, move bodies, and fill the nights with music under the stars. 💃🏼🎨✨

This lineup embodies everything WellFest stands for: connection, creativity, presence, and community. A heartfelt thank you to every human helping bring this vision to life — together, we are co-creating something truly special. 🫶

And don’t forget — this year’s dress-up theme is Jungle Temple. Bring your leaves, fabrics, wild adornments, playful expressions and drums. Help us transform the riverside into a living, breathing jungle sanctuary shaped by all of us.

A Quiet Word From the Flames 🔥🐎

Hey beautiful humans, we’re writing with some big news. After six incredible years, we can no longer host Burning Horse at the Montana Flat in Southland. It’s been our home since day one. A place of music, fire, laughter, mud, sweat, and magic. So this is not a decision we take lightly.
Since that shift, we’ve been exploring a wide range of alternative venues. We’ve walked land, spoken with allies, made offerings, and listened. But so far… nothing has quite borne fruit.

So, it’s time we say it aloud: Burning Horse is unlikely to go ahead in 2026. That door, for now, is closing gently.
But we’re not gone.

The dream is alive. We’re actively searching for a new home, and while our eyes are set on 2027, we’re still holding the door ajar in case something extraordinary reveals itself in the next couple weeks to allow us to push still for our planned dates of February 13th-15th.

So we’re putting it out to you, our community.
✨ We’re looking for a venue:
– Space for up to 2,000 beautiful souls
– Camping allowed on-site
– Water, nature, and breathing room
– Neighbours who love music
– In Southland or Central Otago
– A place where we can dance under the stars and feel the earth underfoot
