How very cool that Kaihaka from our 3 Ngāti Awa entities who made up the Ngā Uri o Awanuiārangi whakangahau kapahaka roopu who took the stage at the Mataatua Regionals in Feb, are flying out to perform by invitation, at a cultural festival in Taiwan tomorrow.

NGĀTI AWA KI TE KORONEIHANA 2026
What: Haka ngahau
When: 5th – 6th September
Where: Turangawaewae Marae
Who: Ngāti Awa whānui
Tēnā kautau kai ngā uri maha o Ngāti Awa
Hai te wiki o te 31 – 6 o Hepetema te hui o Te Koroneihana o Te Arikinui Ngā wai hono i te po.
Kua whakaritehia he wāhi ki a Ngāti Awa ki te whakangahau (kapa haka) hai te wīkene 5-6 Hepetema ki te marae o Tūrangawaewae, Ngaruawāhia.
Ko te tono ki a tātau te iwi o Ngāti Awa, kia haere ngātahi ai tātau ki te whakangahau i te Kūini, i te marae ka tae atu anō.
The Coronation o Kūini Nga wai hono i te po will happen on the first week of September (Aug 31st- Sept 6th).
The whakangahau will be Sat 5th – Sun 6th (Specific date and time TBC)

This is a call to all our haka enthusiasts, Te Toki hapū kapa, NAKR, Te Tini o Awa, Ngāti Awa Taikura, Awanuiārangi, Ngā Kura Tuarua Mana Kuratahi to come together, prep and perform at the Koroneihana in September.
· A bracket is sorted (Items from within the iwi and kapa)
· COMMS will go out soon about mass HARATAU/PARAKITIHI times and dates.
· Video links for those items and kupu (Practice in your time)
· Mass Practices (time used to pull it all together)
