Sunday's club champs DTL were conducted in mildly annoying conditions, still it was the same for everyone.

Yesterdays Keith Smith 100 was defined by wind, the meteorological kind, not what you get from the filled rolls for lunch.
It certainly made for an entertaining spectacle watching targets duck and dive in an often successful attempt to get away.
After one person underwent a quick deed pole name change we had a full squad of people with the surname Smith shoot, which must surely be a first.
I was doing ok at lunch, tied for the lead in b grade. Sadly what I had hoped would be the performance enhancing pie I had for lunch turned out to be quite the opposite and I faded into obscurity. Such is luck.

Results HOA Rob 96
A grade Dave
B grade Logan
C grade Alan

The next shoot offers a chance at redemption maybe, maybe not.

Yesterdays Xmas shoot was held in blustery but sunny conditions with a good turnout of 4 squads. HOA went to Richard France who spent most of the day shooting from the back mark.
A side by side seemed to be a good choice for reducing the wind pushing the barrels around for one shooter.
The crap trap remains with Dannevirke for another year after a comprehensive victory over a Pongaroa team that was full of hope but short on targets.

Sunday's conditions were about perfect for the Johnston Family double rise.
HOA was Dave Smith
A grade 1st Mark Johnston, 2nd Vance Butcher 3rd Roger Bidios
B grade 1st Ian Halliwell, 2nd Paul Wilkey, 3rd Tug O'Brien
C grade was uncontested
The "consolation" events, single rise and point score proved interesting.
In single rise both Mark Johnston (A) and Tug O'Brien (B) scoring possibles.
and in point score Roger Bidios, Mark Johnston, and Joby Stella all A graders achieved the perfect score whilst Ian Halliwell was the best of the B graders.
A good afternoon all round.

Hopefully we will have a team for the dale shield at Patagata next Sunday.
Anyone needing practice could try the 100 ATA singles in the morning first

What are the odds? Two months in a row of sunny days, little wind and no rain. Buy a lotto ticket.
The days shoot used pickups from the last few months.
Targets that have survived one go round obviously have learned to duck as there were only two possibles all day.
Scores
High over all a tie between Tug and Dave
S***t a tie between Eric and Paul
S/R a tie Dave and Paul
S/B a tie Ron and Tug
Continental Dave outright.
A very enjoyable day and some targets will be looking forward to their third outing in the future.
The bottle of wine was won by Ian.

2,240 targets were thrown and only 250 escaped unscathed.

Sunday sees the ITM 100 target single rise sponsored shoot.
At the end, if you've grown bored with shooting both shots at the same target you can have a go at ten pairs of double rise to double your chances of missing.
Pies, filled rolls and possibly soup will be available to sustain you.
Prizes awarded in grades plus a spot draw or 2.
The weather will be good so get out there and do something rather than gardening.

The team shoot at Woodville wasn't so much Veni Vidi Vici more Veni Vidi Contendimus.
The team of Tug, Donald I and Donald B, Ian, Gibby and Mark rotated so everyone had an opportunity to share in the glory
and we did alright.
Second in s***t, third in double rise, and fourth in single rise, point score and gymcrak.
An entertaining day with some of us getting the individual high scores for our grade in a few events.

Below is a picture of the team starting the s***t round for your entertainment
