🚂 CMRES/CMRET Public Update, March 2026

Kia ora,

The Committee of the Christchurch Model Railway Exhibition Society Inc would like to announce its successful transition from a Society to a Charitabke Trust. Effective from Tuesday 24th of March 2026, the Christchurch Model Railway Exhibition Trust will continue the operations and running if the Christchurch Model Train Show.

Please note that the Society will now be wind-down, and we encourage any legal and financial records to be updated. The bank account will be supplied to Exhibitors and Vendors once applications are opened for 2026.

Whilst our organizational structure has changed, Our Website, Emails, and Social Media channels will remain the same.

We can also announce that the 2026 Show Dates have been confirmed as Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of October at Cowles Stadium.

🚂CMRES Notice of Special General Meeting (SGM)

Kia Ora! The CMRES will be holding a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Thursday 19th March 2026, 7:00pm at the Garden City Model Railroad Club rooms at the Ferrymead Heritage Park - 50 Ferrymead Park Drive, Ferrymead, Christchurch 8022 - Access via Gate A.

The purpose of this SGM is to adopt the incorporation of the Christchurch Model Railway Exhibition Trust and windup / disovle the Christchurch Model Railway Exhibition Society's assets and likes into the Trust.

If you can't attend but would like to put forward and questions or concerns on this matter, Please email them through to [email protected] by no later than Wednesday 18th of March 2026 at 7:00pm.

Wow! There is simply one phrase to describe how this years show went - Bloody amazing! The Show Committee would like to say a massive thank you to not only our awesome Exhibitors and Vendors who participated in this years event, But also the amazing members of the public who came along to support!

It's very clear that there we're alot of curios, amazed, and inspired faces around the hall!

Now for the announcment alot of you have been waiting for....

The winner of our 2025 Public Vote award was a very close tied between two layouts, Please give a round of appluase for 3 Mile Bush (No.12) for winning the award, (very) closeley folow by Twin Peaks (No.17) in second place.

The winner of our 2025 Presidents Choice award goes to...Wrexton (No. 16) by the Garden City Model Railroad Club !

Once again, A massive thank you to all, and stay tuned for the announcement of our Kid's Colouring-In Competition Winner and Registration Forms for next year!
