DramFest is New Zealand's largest whisky festival, a tasting and education event that is proudly brought to you by the team at Whisky Galore. Our 2025 event will be held over the 28th February, 1st & 2nd of March at Te Pae Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre - We hope to see you there!

We had some cracking exclusive bottlings for DramFest 2025 - a line up of four spectacular drams featuring: a delicious single cask first fill sherry from distillery, a bold Ben Nevis from North Star Spirits, a Caol Ila from Adelphi Selection that transported us to the shores of Islay 😌 and a very special single cask from Pōkeno Wh**ky 🥃
The team have been hard at it again, selecting our exclusive bottlings for DramFest 2027 (its tough but someone's got to do it 🤷‍♀️), swipe for a sneaky peak! 👀

What to expect from our 2027 event 👀
We're pulling out all the stops for our 10th birthday, so gather some pals and come join us! 🥳

- 3 days of whisk(e)y and dark spirit education 🥃

- a stellar line up of overseas and local spirits experts, eager to share their knowledge 👏

- over 350 different spirits available to sample, including DramFest exclusive bottlings 🙌

- enjoy some drams whilst listening to incredible local musicians 🪕

- Mike from Pōkeno Wh**ky is back to demonstrate his coopering skills ⚒️

- enjoy some drams with friends old and new 🥃

- the Spirits Forums are back, hosted once again by and featuring industry special guests

- we welcome back our local Pipe Bands to kick off the celebrations each day!

- we're bringing back the Collectors Corner - a unique opportunity to sample rare and interesting spirits from the Wh**ky Galore Auctions archives

Mark the date in your diary - we'll be opening registration for DramFest Main Event Tickets on Wednesday 14th October at 8pm! 🥃

Our ticket release is going to look a little different this year 🎟 we've adjusted this to make the experience a bit easier. It will involve pre-registering your interest for tickets - don't worry, we'll send out all the details in advance so you know exactly how it will work.
In the meantime, see below the DF27 dates, times, and what's included in your ticket:
● DramFest 2027 will take place over the 12th-14th March 2027 in the heart of Ōtautahi Christchurch at the Te Pae Convention Centre.
● Main Event dates and times are as follows:
Friday 12th March - 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Saturday 13th March - 1:00pm - 6:00pm
Sunday 14th March - 1:00pm - 6:00pm
● Your Main Event ticket includes all your stand spirit samples for the day, live music, access to guest experts and the Spirits Forums, as well as a branded , lanyard, pen, and event booklet.
The countdown has officially begun! ⏳️

This time last week, we had the pleasure of watching some of the country's top bartenders battle it out under the stars at .brightsiderooftopbar in an inaugural Macleans Nose cocktail competition! 🍸
It was incredible to taste their creations that highlighted both the flavours and story of this dram from the remote West Coast penninsula in Scotland.
We congratulate on taking out the popular public vote and as the judges' winner! 🏆
Thanks to our panel of judges, The Hon Alex Bruce, Siona Collier and **kymack 👏
We couldn't think of a better way to cap off 🙌

We were completely spoilt with FOUR DramFest bottlings this year! We are delighted to reveal that they are:

🥃 A very special single cask collaboration with **kygalorenz and **ky using cask 121 which has travelled time and continents to create this very special dram ✨️ It features notes of hazelnut chocolate, soft spices and black forest gateaux 🙌
🥃 A single cask ex-sherry hogshead from the iconic distillery in Speyside. Boasting notes of rich raisin sweetness mingled with a delicate peat smoke, this dram is deliciously moreish! 😋
🥃From the infamous Islay distillery of Caol Ila, this single cask bottling from an ex-sherry hogshead is full of earthy peat, bacon and rich marmalade - another cracking release from the team at
🥃Bottled by this is a big, bold west coast dram hailing from Ben Nevis distillery (please note this dram has sold out!)
