Night at Hagley Park has its own feeling.
Floodlit paths, flags guiding the loop, runners moving through the park under moonlight. A light fog settles over the grass. The city sits quiet around us, traffic noise fading into the distance.
There’s something peaceful about it - running when the world slows down, when it’s just footsteps, breath, and the rhythm of the loop.
In the stillness of the night, running becomes something different.
Calmer. More focused. Almost meditative.
This is part of what makes timed ultras special. You don’t just race the clock - you move through it, lap by lap, day into night and back again.
