Beer and Politics

Beer and Politics Beer & Politics: the only way politics should be discussed and debated - over a few cold beers! Check out the bars' page for more details.

Held at Little Neighbourhood Garden Bar at 94 Victoria Street, Central Christchurch. Beer & Politics is a local institution mixing political banter over a few cold beer. Local and national politicians are regularly invited to the venue to speak about a pressing issue (local or national) over a few drinks and discussion is encouraged, all with the aim of helping inform the public what is going on i

n New Zealand politics. The purpose of this page is to help those interested in politics keep up to date with our events and get involved in some occasional local political debate. The events are held at Little Neighbourhood Garden Bar located at 94 Victoria Street in the Central City. This was the first licenced premise to established in the Central City after the devastating Christchurch earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 (formally called Revival Bar).

Who would have thought that the Christchurch Central City would turn into a potential swing seat this election?

Tag a mate who needs to come along to Beer and Politics at Little Neighbourhood this August and hear what the candidates from Labour and National have to say.

Is Christchurch's urban electorate really a Labour stronghold, just flirting with the other side?

Hi team,

Welcome to our new spin-off page from the "Beer and Politics" events we have been holding this year at Little Neighbourhood.

We've got quite a few events coming up towards the big election day and we wanted to separate these events from our normal bar and restaurant page - so our apologies for being bombarded with all the event and page invites!

Post-election, the beers and political banter won't be stopping as we intend to turn our focus onto local body politics, while also continuing to have our government politicians visit us from time to time.

Would be great to hear any feedback or suggestions you have from past events or speakers/topics you would like to see covered in the future?

So, here's to beer and political banter!
