We've hit 100,000 counselling sessions!

While reaching 100,000 free sessions is a monumental achievement, it’s also a stark reminder of the ongoing need for mental health support for our young people.

It's taken a lot of hard work from not just our team, but our community of incredible supporters and mental health professionals.

Thank you Aotearoa for believing in our mission. For donating and making it possible for us to provide free counselling to our young people. For being there with us from the beginning, empowering our rangatahi to seek help without fear of stigma! We are so grateful and so proud.

“Every session is a chance to make a difference, and I am incredibly proud of the team and all the counsellors who have dedicated their time and expertise to helping our youth all over Aotearoa," says Mike King.

🧐 Some quite exciting news here! Encore Entertainment is this year's gold sponsor for Luxor Events The Gala! Each year this incredible event helps raise funds for New Zealand charities I AM HOPE and Gumboot Friday. This year our sister band Diamond Blue is going to feature as their entertainment! In the coming weeks keep your eyes peeled on the billboards as we feature leading up to the event.

New to 2023 - Staged Portrait Area

Inspired by the jaw-dropping imagery created by renowned fashion photographer Mark Seliger at the Vanity Fair Oscars After Parties, Charlie Rose Creative is creating a custom photography studio for the night of The Gala. For a donation equivalent to the cost of a counseling session provided by Gumboot Friday, have a one on one portrait session with Charlie on the night, while you’re dressed to the nines!


You’ll receive guidance on how to pose during the session and 3 beautiful professionally edited images to treasure. Lighting donated by Light Chaser Rentals and set designed and built by Charlie Rose Creative.

More information will be sent out about these sessions via email in the coming week and you will be able to secure your spot in advance.

*Only 30 spaces are available - for up to 5 people per group.
