📣As we turn our heads towards 2024 and the IVF World Sprint Championships 🌏 being held in Hilo Bay, Hawaii, we would like to once again thank Samoa Outrigger Canoe Association - Alo Vaa - SOCA for the amazing IVF World Distance Championship they hosted. So many memories and friendships made. Thank you to all the of the Organising Committee; Jay Ah F**k Schuster, Moana Evans and the team, the volunteers and officials, the sponsors, partners and supporters, the Samoan Government and of course the Samoan people who welcomed paddlers from 27 countries with open arms.

Nau mai haere mai! Waka Ama NZ Regional Development Coordinator AROCA - Maruwhare Harman (Nō Ngāti Maniapoto, Whakatōhea)
Waka Ama NZ and Auckland Region Outrigger Canoe Association - AROCA are delighted to welcome Maruwhare Harman as the new Regional Development Coordinator for the AROCA Region.
This appointment is the first regional appointment as part of the Aukaha Project which will see further appointments in our regions. Along with our clubs, Maruwhare will drive and facilitate growth in the Region aligned with the Aukaha project.
Maruwhare has a strong connection to Waka Ama in the Waikato area and more recently in Canada. We look forward to working with Maruwhare and her positive contribution to the development of Waka Ama in the AROCA region.

With this silver medal, Peter has earned a quota spot in the Para Va’a for Aotearoa at the 2024 Paralympics 🙌🏽
