Full and half day garden tours encompass everything from compact designer gardens in the heart of town to breath-taking country estates. Workshops provide the opportunity to brush up on skills and horticultural knowledge with experts from New Zealand and overseas. The always popular Garden Party on the Saturday night is a chance to sip and mingle with speakers, guests and like-minded enthusiasts.

On Sunday is the STIHL Shop Garden Fête, entertainment for the whole family, over 200 stalls offering the best from New Zealand and a chance to kick off Christmas shopping. With the stunning Marlborough Sounds on its doorstep, rugged mountain ranges, fertile plains and world class Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough has a lot to offer – so stay for the whole weekend, or longer!

As anticipation builds for Garden Marlborough 2026, we’re delighted to unveil three exceptional new gardens joining this year’s festival.

From a remarkable private estate nestled among vineyards and wetlands, to an intimate urban sanctuary and a beautifully crafted coastal native garden, each offers its own distinctive story and inspiration.

The wait is over! The 2026 Garden Marlborough programme is now live on our website, and our beautiful printed brochure should be arriving in mailboxes this week.

This year’s festival features an inspiring line-up of speakers, including Richard Hayden (The High Line, New York), Sarah Tuck (dish magazine) and Dr Peter Sergel (Hamilton Gardens).

Discover three stunning new gardens, the return of favourites like Paripuma and French Fields, plus our popular Flower Farm Tour, now expanded with two additional flower farms.

For the first time in New Zealand, Richard will share the story behind one of the world’s most celebrated public gardens in The High Line: Wild by Design, offering a rare behind-the-scenes insight into the vision, design and stewardship of this globally influential landscape.

Introducing our 2026 Garden Marlborough Committee.

We’re officially in planning mode and excited for everything this year’s festival has in store. It’s fantastic to welcome two new faces to the committee, Richard Ellis and Honour Welbourn, joining a passionate group dedicated to bringing the event to life.

A huge thank you also to our wider network of incredible volunteers who join us at event week - your time, energy and enthusiasm are what make this festival so special year after year.
