Squash Auckland putting on a great! Without the Referees there are no competition….
Was that a let? A stroke? Or should you just pretend you didn't see it ...
If refereeing makes you nervous, you are not alone!
Join us for a fun and practical Referees Night with John Hull, aimed at helping C–F Grade players, juniors and anyone keen to improve their understanding of the game.
📅 Wednesday 8th July
⏰ 6.30pm – 8.30pm
📍 North Shore Squash Club
John will cover:
* The 4 types of interference and how to recognise them
* Letting the rules make the decision for you
* Real-life scenarios and the thought process behind the calls
* Self-created interference and what happens next
* Taking charge of a match with confidence and consistency
* New timing rule updates
* Injury situations and what the rules allow (if time permits)
The goal - to take the fear out of refereeing and help everyone feel more confident when they are handed the marker position post match.
The bonus - better knowledge and understanding of the rules usually means better squash too!
Whether you are a player, parent, junior, coach or someone who has ever panicked when asked to referee a match, this session is for you.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
