Sometimes the best-laid plans take time — and that’s what makes seeing them come to life so rewarding.

From the initial floor plan, to the first render where the finishes, colours and palette begin to tell the story, and then to the factory inspection where the kitchen starts to become real.

It’s in these moments that the details really come to life — the materials, textures, colours and craftsmanship coming together exactly as imagined.

In a transitional kitchen, classic character meets contemporary living — creating a space that feels at home within an older house, while delivering the function, flow and aesthetic of modern life.

For this feature, we’re showcasing two Kitchens By Design kitchens where traditional architecture and modern design work beautifully together.

Both kitchens are anchored in their connection to the spaces around them — opening into living and dining areas, working naturally with timber flooring and becoming part of the wider home rather than simply a room within it.

There’s a certain warmth to a country kitchen — spaces that feel welcoming, considered and made for gathering.

For our Country Warmth feature, we’re showcasing two Kitchens By Design kitchens that capture the character of country living in very different ways.

Kitchen One embraces a softer, more refined country aesthetic. Soft green tones are paired with warm copper accents and timeless handles, while a cleverly concealed scullery keeps everyday mess out of sight without compromising connection to the main kitchen.

Kitchen Two takes a richer, more grounded approach. Darker timber features, beautifully detailed cabinetry and a classic butler’s sink create depth and character. A dedicated appliance corner keeps everyday essentials close at hand, bringing together beautiful design and thoughtful functionality.

Two different interpretations of country style, but both share the same principles:
