We're delighted to announce Mit photography as our next guest for Overload 2026!!

Based in Japan, mit is a concept art photographer who captures the unwritten past and future of stories into single images. mit personally oversees every aspect of the creative process — from casting and costume design to composition and photography — creating unique interpretations that invite viewers into a deeper dialogue. mit has exhibited worldwide, extending beyond galleries into workshops, talks, and judging panels, inspiring others to explore concept art photography.

We're thrilled to reveal our first guest, cosplay artist Yuji Koi!

Cosplayer, crafter, performer, model, and judge – Yuji has become a familiar face on the international cosplay scene. Since entering the world of cosplay in 2012, she has built an impressive reputation through award-winning performances, global competition appearances, and a passion for helping others develop their skills.

Today, Yuji shares her expertise through workshops and panels covering cosplay makeup, character portrayal, and competitive performance, inspiring the next generation of cosplayers around the world.

Whether you've followed her stunning cosplay work online or are discovering her for the first time, you'll have the chance to meet Yuji in person at Overload 2026!

The Overload Art Competition is back! ✨🎨

Open to all ages and skill levels, we’re celebrating our 20th anniversary with a special challenge - create a pair of original anime-inspired ambassador characters, along with our adorable mascot Nindoro as their trusty companion. Thanks to our sponsors, CLIP STUDIO PAINT and Graphic Novel Cafe, winners will receive 12 months of Clip Studio Paint EX for free and a cash prize!

An amazing opportunity has dropped for the NZ artist community! ✨

As a proud member of the International Otaku Expo Association (IOEA), Overload has been invited to participate in World Doujins Paradise Hong Kong 2026 (WDPHK), taking place within Ani-com & Games Hong Kong (ACGHK) this July.

Through this opportunity, we are seeking two New Zealand-based artists to join an official Overload representative in Hong Kong. Selected artists will represent Aotearoa’s unique doujin talent as cultural ambassadors, connecting with creators from Hong Kong and around the world, with each receiving their own booth space to showcase and sell their work on a global stage.

If you possess convention experience, a compelling portfolio, and an admirable appetite for taking your work abroad, check your eligibility and submit your portfolio via the link on our website. Applications close Sunday, 17th May at 11:59 pm.
