A Proud Night for the Miss IndiaNZ Family

On Tuesday, 28 July 2026, at the SkyCity Theatre, Auckland, two members of the Miss IndiaNZ family achieved outstanding success on one of the country’s most prestigious pageant stages at Miss Universe New Zealand 2026.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our reigning Miss IndiaNZ, Caroline Thomas, who was crowned Runner-Up and was also honoured with the Best National Costume Award.

We also congratulate Sahana Begum, a Miss IndiaNZ 2018 finalist, on her outstanding achievement of finishing among the Top 7 finalists.

Seeing two former Miss IndiaNZ contestants recognised at the national level is a proud milestone for our organisation. Their achievements reflect the confidence, leadership and dedication that continue to define the Miss IndiaNZ journey.

Caroline and Sahana, thank you for representing yourselves, your communities and New Zealand with elegance, grace and distinction. Your success is an inspiration to the next generation of young women who aspire to follow in your footsteps.

Congratulations on this remarkable achievement. We are incredibly proud of you both.

Some women walk with a dream.
Some walk with belief.

Meet Narishma Sharma, a proud contestant of Miss India South Pacific Fiji 2026.

Born and raised in the beautiful islands of Fiji, Narishma is a 19-year-old student at the University of the South Pacific, where she is studying Tourism and Marketing.

She believes, "Nothing is impossible if you truly believe in yourself and have the courage to chase your dreams."

At just 17 years old, Narishma stepped onto the national stage as a contestant in Miss Universe Fiji 2024. She later achieved the title of 1st Runner-Up at Miss Teen India Fiji 2025, experiences that strengthened her confidence, resilience, and passion for personal growth.

Motivated by her desire to encourage young girls to dream big and believe in themselves, Narishma entered Miss India South Pacific Fiji to continue growing, gain new experiences, and inspire others to pursue their goals with courage and determination.

For her, this journey is about more than competing on stage - it's about using her voice to remind every young woman that no dream is too big when you believe in yourself.

Because true beauty shines brightest when it is fuelled by confidence, hope, and determination.

Nearly two decades after stepping onto the Miss IndiaNZ stage as a contestant, Mamta Chand continues her connection with the platform in a new and meaningful role.

Born in Fiji and proudly of Indo-Fijian heritage, Mamta moved to New Zealand in 2002 and participated in Miss IndiaNZ in 2008. Since then, she has built a respected career across healthcare, business, events and community service.

Mamta works at Middlemore Hospital and is also the Director of The Vibemix Events Ltd, a multicultural events and entertainment company. She is also a registered New Zealand marriage and civil union celebrant and remains deeply committed to bringing people together through culture, celebration and community engagement.

Miss IndiaNZ, established in 2002, is the founding platform behind Miss India South Pacific. Building on more than two decades of experience in New Zealand, Miss India South Pacific was created to connect women of Indian heritage across Fiji, Australia and New Zealand through culture, confidence, leadership and opportunity.

As one of our brand ambassadors, Mamta has made a positive contribution to the promotion and growth of this vision. We sincerely thank her for her support, commitment and willingness to give back to a platform that once formed part of her own journey.

We are especially grateful to Mamta for travelling to Fiji to support the contestants and contribute to their experience. Her presence, encouragement and connection with the community will mean a great deal to the women taking part.

Thank you, Mamta Chand, for continuing to support Miss IndiaNZ and Miss India South Pacific, and for helping strengthen the connection between Fiji and New Zealand.
