As a Nepalese community, it’s important that we recognise, celebrate and promote the incredible emerging talent growing within our own community. One such young artist is RESUJA SAWAD, a 16 year old Nepalese born artist who is quickly making her mark on New Zealand’s youth music scene.

She recently won the Solo/Duo category at Raise Up – New Sound Found, one of New Zealand’s annual youth music competitions. She has also been named Best Vocalist at RockQuest Regional (Manukau) for two consecutive years, in 2025 and 2026.

With her raspy, soulful voice, authentic style and powerful stage presence, Resuja is catching the attention of audiences and music judges alike. Her original songwriting and growing presence on Auckland’s live music scene are further establishing her as one of the exciting young talents to watch in Aotearoa.

At just 16, Resuja’s journey is only beginning. Keep making us proud, Resuja! We’re always here for you - through the highs and the lows. Never hesitate to reach out to us anytime. ❤️🇳🇵
