✨ Marina Pauliukova’s Exhibition: "Re-imagining the World" Opening Recap ✨

What an incredible day yesterday at The Upstairs Gallery in Titirangi! We kicked off the Re-imagining the World exhibition by Marina Pauliukova as part of Lithuanian Days Aotearoa 2024, and the energy was nothing short of inspiring. 🎨

From bold, imaginative pieces that challenge the norm to intricate works that invite reflection, Marina's creations left everyone in awe. The audience was a perfect mix of art lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and supporters of Lithuanian culture. Many meaningful conversations were sparked, and it was wonderful seeing so many of you there!

If you missed the opening, don’t worry—there’s still time to experience this exhibition! It will be running until 18th September, so make sure to drop by and immerse yourself in this unique artistic journey.

TWO DAYS until Opening of Marina Pauliukova’s Exhibition: "Re-imagining the World"!

Marina’s artworks have been shaped by the willingness to draw attention to the fragililty of nature, and a need to connect the viewer in an intimate and powerful way to the nature.

“I want to bring the observer face to face with these magnificent nature details in macro scale. Thus, my works aften has tiny elements – (tiny seeds or flowers), that invites the observer to lean in and zoom in the miraculous world of nature up close, i.e. to look in to a tiny petal of forget-me-not or curve of the flower stem. Through my art, I strive to encourage viewers to reconsider their relationship with the natural world—to pause, observe, and appreciate the wonders that surround us.”, - she says.

Marina Pauliukova’s Exhibition: "Re-imagining the World" will run from 14th to 18th September at Upstairs Gallery.

Sponsored by Lietuvos kultūros taryba-Lithuanian Council for Culture and Foundation North, and supported by Naujosios Zelandijos Lietuvių Bendruomenė / Lithuanian Society of NZ, exhibition is the final event of this year’s cultural festival Lithuanian Days Aotearoa.

"Moving to New Zealand only deepened my inspiration as I immersed myself in its rich landscapes, - says Marina Pauliukova;- When the pandemic struck and life came to a standstill, nature became my refuge. Long walks with my family became solace and opportunities to reflect, collect, and create. Each leaf, berry, or twig I gathered became a vessel for my thoughts and emotions, a testament to the beauty of the present moment".

We’re thrilled to present another sneak peek into the enchanting world of Marina Pauliukova and ask her to share how it all started, "It was during a journey to the Canary Islands that I stumbled upon ephemeral art. Inspired by the raw beauty of untouched elements, I began crafting art from the earth itself – arranging leaves, flowers, and branches into intricate patterns and shapes. This journey made me realise that my art was a form of communion with nature, a dialogue between myself and the world around me."
