Our festival

10th Japanese Kids' Festival　2019 Sat 19 Jan 2019 at Milford School The Japanese Kids' Festival is hosted by Japan kauri Education Trust in Glenfield, the committee has been working hard to coordinate a unique Japanese themed event which links the talents of our kids, our families, local businesses and the public so we can all come together. The event will be held on Saturday 19th January 2019.

WHO ARE WE? The Japan Kauri Education Trust is to preserve Japanese cultural and linguistic heritage for the next generation of Japanese in New Zealand. For this purpose, the Trust will conduct educational activities which will help the next generation be proud of and comfortable with their identity and achieve their full potential. Also, the Trust will promote effective relationships with local communities, and bridge the gap between New Zealand and Japanese cultures to foster mutual recognition and understanding which leads to enriched multicultural society.

Japanese Kids’ Festival は今回で4年ぶり10回目の開催となります。 2006年より日本の伝統的な子どもの文化を地域の皆さんにご紹介しながら、ともに楽しむことを目的に、実施してまいりました。オークランドで暮らす子どもたち、日系家族、地域のみなさんとともにさらに深い相互理解を目指して実施いたします。実行委員会メンバー一同、準備に頑張っています。みなさんからの温かい応援、ご参加、どうぞよろしくおねがいします！ 2019年1月19日Milford School実施です。 Japan Kauri EducaitonTrustは、日本語や日本文化をニュージーランドで暮らす子どもたちに伝えていくため、日本の文化伝承、言語継承のために活動をしているNPO団体です。Japanese Children's Library、オークランド日本語継承センターの運営を行っています。
