Starting from Thai Monastery, the marathon ends at Maya Devi Temple passing through landmark places such as Maya Devi Garden, Tilaurakot, Kudan, Goti Hawa, Nigli Hawa, Sagra Hawa, Ram Gram, Dev Daha & all other Holi Sites of Buddhist Pilgrimage. The marathon is scheduled on the full moon day of Fagu Purnima. According to Buddhist Scripture and Chief of Tilaurakot Palace of Kapilvastu, Mr. Madhav A
charya and his advice, we can organize this marathon on this auspicious day of Fagu Purnima, because according to Buddhist Scripture, this full moon day is the day Buddha returned home from Magadha Kingdom after Enlightenment in Bodh Gaya, First Sermon in Saranath and various other places of Rajgir. That is why, we are organizing this marathon on this particular full moon day because when Buddha left home, he left as Siddhartha Gautama and when he returned back home, he was Gautama Buddha, the Enlightened Shakyamuni.
