SAFE & SECURE
Trail marking
The competition follows a trail marked on the national hiking map for the national park. As the organizer, we review the trail in the time before the competition to check the marking.
Participant requirements
As a participant, you must have experience from long day trips in arctic mountains and alpine landscapes. You must be able to handle changing weather and be able to act independently between the checkpoints. The changing weather also requires that you always have the mandatory equipment and clothing in your own pack.
All participants also have a responsibility for each other. If another participant needs help, you must stop and assist as far as is reasonable. Safety always comes before time, location and ex*****on.
Mountaineering
Breheimen Ultra runs through weather-exposed, remote and demanding mountain terrain. As a participant, you are obliged to follow the organizer's instructions before, during and after the race.
At the same time, you must be able to make independent risk assessments along the way. You must be able to assess the weather, conditions, your own capacity, equipment and the situation around you. It is important to be able to make good decisions when conditions change.
Change of regular route
As the organizer, we will be able to change the route, mandatory equipment, start time, cutoff or implementation if weather, conditions, water flow, dangerous parts of the glacier or other conditions affect the safety and risk picture.
