We are happy to announce that we have partnered up with TradeWinds to launch Oslo Ocean Days, a new high-level leadership forum and partner platform for the ocean industries.

Taking place in Oslo city centre on 9–10 September 2026, the biennial event is designed to complement Nor-Shipping by expanding the dialogue beyond the traditional maritime sector and addressing the fast-moving forces shaping the industry.

Together with partners including DNB, Höegh Autoliners, the Norwegian Maritime Authority (Sjøfartsdirektoratet) and Skuld, the ambition is to establish Oslo Ocean Days as a key global meeting point. The event is structured as a leadership forum, partner platform and networking arena built around agenda-setting discussions.

The 2026 edition will place a particular emphasis on maritime and shipping, reflecting current developments across the sector. Hosted across venues in Oslo city centre, the programme will combine a curated conference agenda with networking gatherings, a regatta and a gala dinner at the Oslo Opera House.

On this International Women's Day, Nor-Shipping extends heartfelt gratitude to all women for their invaluable contributions to our industry. We especially honour female seafarers and maritime leaders, whose dedication and determination are shaping the future of the maritime sector.

At Nor-Shipping, we are privileged to host initiatives such as the "10 Women to Watch" award in collaboration with YoungShip Oslo , while partnering with organisations such as Wista Norway , whose work actively promotes greater inclusion of women across the maritime community.

Our Director, Sidsel Norvik, shares a few reflections:

"As a woman navigating the opportunities and challenges of a traditionally male-dominated industry, I am continually inspired by our female colleagues across the globe. Together, we redefine what is possible, not only for ourselves, but for future generations. Standing alongside so many competent and visionary women is truly a privilege.

After the success of Nor-Shipping 2025, the Nor-Shipping Cup returns in 2026, bringing the maritime industry together for a series of sailing regattas in the Oslofjord. Powered by Höegh Autoliners, the Cup offers multiple race days throughout the season, combining friendly competition with valuable networking. Boats and instructors are provided, and no prior sailing experience is required. ⛵️ 🌊

Oslo ranks among the world’s top five maritime cities!

According to the Leading Maritime Cities Report 2024, published by DNV and Menon Economics, Oslo now ranks just behind Singapore, Rotterdam, London and Shanghai. For the first time, the Norwegian capital has surpassed Tokyo.

With a strong presence of world-leading shipping banks, maritime companies, insurers and brokers, Oslo is cementing its role as a global financial and technological hub in the maritime sector.

Our campaign aims to showcase not only the scale and global relevance of the maritime industry, but also the wide range of career opportunities, companies and roles that make it thrive. It’s one of Norway’s biggest, most future-oriented and internationally connected industries.

At Nor-Shipping 2025, we launched the Student Ambassador Programme, giving students a chance to take part in the event, recruit peers, and gain real industry access.

The result? More student engagement than ever before. New networks, new voices, and fresh momentum.

Our 60th anniversary edition was the biggest Nor-Shipping to date, with record numbers across the board. From a vibrant week in Oslo to packed halls in Lillestrøm, Nor-Shipping 2025 was a powerful celebration of global collaboration, innovation, and a shared ambition for a more sustainable, hashtag maritime industry.
