The German team didn't just win the gold medals. In doing so, they broke the old track record. The new record is 2:37.349.

For the first time in 12 years Austria wins a World Cup competition for men. Our congratulations to Wolfgang Kindl. Semen Pavlichenko (RUS) finished second and Dominik Fischnaller third.

The women also had great conditions and Tatiana Ivanova (RUS) set a track record for the second day in a row. With a good second run she won the whole competition. The new track record is 47:59.

Alex Cough (CAN) came second and Dajana Eitberger (GER) third.

Gry Martine Mostue (Lillehammer, Norway) had a good crowd cheering for her and she ended in 20th position.

Todays race was extremely fast with several new track records. Finaly Wendl and Arlt (GER) ended up with the new start record (2,273) and Eggert/Benecken (GER) with the new track record (47,610)

Wendl and Arlt also won the World Cup Race before Eggert and Benecken, with Denisyev and Antonov (RUS) in the third position.

An exciting day with track record for the women and a local surprise.

Tatiana Ivanova (RUS) broke the old track record and won the womens nations cup. The new record is 47.73. Katja Katnikova, also from Russia, came in second and Erin Hamlin (USA) was number three on the podium. Gry Mostue from Norway also qualified with an eleventh place in the Nations Cup.

In the Nations cup for men, Armin Frauscher from Austria finished first, followed by Kristen Rozitis (LAT) and Evgeniy Voskrevenskiy. The local boy Aleksander Frimo Melås (16) qualified for his first senior world cup. Thor Nørbech and Jo Aleksander Koppang also qualified for Norway.

Tension is rising and the times are getting better. The media are preparing their coverage of the World Cup race in Lillehammer.

The track crew keep providing great conditions and the weathergods have sprinkled the forest with a nice layer of snow.

Life is good in Norway.

Ta turen til Bob- og akebana fredag kl 09.00. Da er det nationscup, som er den endelige kvalifiseringen til verdenscuprennene i helgen.

Fire lokale utøvere stiller på start. Gry Martine Mostue, Karoline Frimo Melås, Aleksander Frimo Melås og Martin Gutuen Alnes. Det er satt flere personlige rekorder under trening og de gleder seg til å ake med de beste i verden.

Det blir storskjerm i målområdet slik at vi kan følge akerne gjennom hele banen. Mellom slagene blir det servering og mulighet for å prøve naturbaneaking gjennom skogen nederst i banen.

Skyttelbuss er satt opp fra Lillehammer Skysstasjon. Se info lenger ned på siden.
