Our Story
The social circus of 24-hour team racing. The tip of an abandoned peninsula surrounded by five arctic fjords. Crystal clear air and hundreds of peaks rising straight out of the sea. Moose, reindeer and sea eagles are frequently seen on the arena. Norways national mountain Stetind -Statthajåhka in Sami- watches you majestically from across the fjord. Seven kilometres of seaside track with single trail, slick rock, beach, forest mud, gravel and grass. The intense and ever-changing daylight of the High North. A complete arctic canvas, all set for stars and Aurora Borealis, the northern lights. Fishing, bonfires, BBQ, stockfish chewing, sleeping on reindeer fur in Sami lavvus…
Aurora24 is an off-road team cycling team event where only one person per team rides a bike at any time. Teams change riders as often as they like in the social pit area just before the lap finishing line. The goal is for a team to complete as many laps as possible in 24 hours. Some teams care more for the social fun, the costume award or beating their special rivals.
Teams may consist of 1, 2, 4 or 5+riders – women, men and mix. Teams decide who rides and when. Such tactics are a big part of 24-hour racing, bringing extra fun into the game. During the dark hours, headlights, BBQ and LED lights bring extra athmosphere while we wait for the Aurora to arrive. September 28 - 29 in Lødingen, Arctic Norway. This you may certainly never forget.
