Hi, I'm Erle! 🌊 The ocean has always been my greatest inspiration. Growing up along the coast, my curiosity led me into a world of diving, freediving, kayaking, and coasteering.
As a marine biologist, my mission is to share knowledge about life both beneath and above the ocean's surface—and to show why we must protect it. 🌍✨
I can't wait to share my experiences and inspiration with you at Sjonar Festival! 🎉 Come by and let's explore the ocean's wonders together!

Hei, jeg er Erle! 🌊 Havet har alltid vært min største inspirasjon. Vokst opp langs kysten, der nysgjerrigheten min førte meg til en verden av dykking, fridykking, kajakkpadling og coasteering.
Som marinbiolog er min oppgave å dele kunnskap om livet både under og over havoverflaten – og å vise hvorfor vi må beskytte det. 🌍✨

Meet 🏊🏻‍♂️🏊‍♀️, Dan-Willy, and Ingjerd, and hear about their adventures as ocean lovers and fjord advocates, swimmers, freedivers and during SJØNÆR AFTERSEA.

🇳🇴 Norsk:
Vi er fridykkere, havsvømmere og naturforkjempere på svømmeekspedisjon gjennom noen av Norges mest ikoniske og truede fjorder. Vi bruker ekstremsport for å synliggjøre truslene mot fjordene.
Ingjerd er Hope Spot Champion for Jærkysten gjennom Mission Blue, og har tidligere svømt både Jærkysten og Førdefjorden. Hun driver sin egen svømmeskole med havet som basseng.
Dan, styremedlem i Jæren Coast Hope Spot, er kampsportutøver og tidligere røykdykker. Han begynte å svømme og fridykke i januar 2024, og håper hans sjøsamiske røtter hjelper på reisen.
På Sjønær Festivalen deler vi historier og erfaringer fra ekspedisjonen – og hvorfor vi kjemper for fjordene våre.

We are freedivers, open water swimmers, and nature advocates on a swimming expedition through some of Norway’s most iconic and threatened fjords. We use extreme sports to highlight the environmental threats.
Ingjerd, a Hope Spot Champion through Mission Blue, has swum both the Jæren Coast and Førdefjorden, and runs her own ocean-based swim school.
Dan, a board member of the Jæren Coast Hope Spot, is a martial artist and former smoke diver. He began freediving in January 2024 and draws strength from his Sea Sámi heritage.
At the Sjønær Festival, we share stories and experiences from our journey — and why we are fighting for our fjords.

Meet Mari Aarbø – freediver, underwater enthusiast, and deeply feeling soul!
With national championship gold medals and World Championship participation under her weight belt, Mari lives to push her own limits beneath and above the surface, always with her eyes on the horizon.
At the Sjønær Festival, she’ll share her journey through setbacks, triumphs, and the magic of holding her breath – both in the water and in life. It’s a story where love and freediving cannot be kept apart.
Be inspired by someone who truly dares to dive deep!

Med NM-gull og VM-deltakelse under bly-beltet og blikket rettet mot horisonten, lever Mari for å pushe egne grenser under og over overflaten.
På Sjønær-festivalen deler hun sin reise gjennom motgang, mestring og magien i å holde pusten – både i vann og i livet. En historie der kjærlighet og fridykking ikke kan separeres.

SAVE THE DATE - for what? SJØNÆR! 5.-7. SEPTEMBER 2025 at Runde Miljøsenter im Herøy! :) http://www.xn--sjnr-xoa0i.no/ link in the bio.

Why? Because you like diving or freediving or coasteering or kajakking or nature or gathering with cool like-minded people or listen to peoples extraordinary life stories!

You get seved home cooked good food, boat trips, and underwater wilderniss, like seaweed forests, caves, mystical sunken treasures, and an awesome location with a proper cosy wildlife factor, like seabirds or seals, just around the corner.

We adapt communication between english and norwegian, so there is a place for everyone from anywhere! :)

You are also welcome to just join the social part on Saturday afternoon or evening for the AFTERSEA party.

Or bring you whole family to explore activities for free during SUNDAY FUNDAY.
(spoiler alert: diving cannot be tested on Sunday Funday)

Let's go! Sjønaer Festivalen! A unique adventure and water sport festival that allows you to experience the coastline in Søre Sunnmøre in a new way. Bringing together people and their life stories with the sea. With play and explore activities like coasteering, freediving, scuba diving along Runde's beautiful coastline, an ambience, wrapped in pure nature and topped up with good food and company will allow you to let go and dive in! See you by the sea! :)
