The number of travelers seeking depth is growing worldwide. According to Booking.com, 44 percent of travelers in 2023 will value authentic experiences more than tourist highlights. And this is reflected in the market: from Peru to Slovenia, there is a growing range of community-based tourism, in which encounters and engagement are central.
Authentic travel is therefore no longer a trend, but a fundamental reorientation of how we want to travel and what we hope to get out of it. No more quick checklists, but experiences that linger. No perfect picture, but a real story.
