Grauzone festival is a multidisciplinary underground festival with a diverse and cutting-edge programme where music, film and art complement each other. Grauzone features young talent as well as established names rooted in or influenced by the underground music scene from new wave, elektronic to psychedelic and experimental. The program consists of performances by (international) bands and DJ’s, a symposium with lectures and interviews, an (GRAUKUNST) exhibition and a film program.

LA-based dark electronic duo HALLOWS, signed to Artoffact Records, blend 80s-inspired synths with goth and post-punk energy.
Rotterdam-based ORUS BORIS, the coldwave project of Paul Mogwitz, brings wobbly synth lines, New Romantic vocals and lo-fi melancholy.

We’re joining forces with Crossing Border for a special evening with legendary music writer Simon Reynolds.

On Friday 23 October, Reynolds will be at BorderKitchen, in conversation with White Rabbit publisher Lee Brackstone, discussing his new book Still in a Dream: Shoegaze, Slackers and the Reinvention of Rock, 1984–1994.

Reynolds looks back at the years before grunge and the rise of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, Pixies, Dinosaur Jr. and more. A scene whose influence is still felt today.

For over 40 years, Reynolds has been a defining voice in music journalism, documenting everything from post-punk and rave to electronic music in books such as Energy Flash, Rip It Up and Start Again and Retromania. Tickets: grauzonefestival.nl/events-1

Danish post-punks Iceage have become one of the most influential and adventurous bands of their generation.

Their acclaimed new album, For the Love of Grace & the Hereafter (2026), has been hailed one of their finest works yet. Berlin-based musician and artist Rosa Anschütz returns to Grauzone festival 2027 with her stunning fourth album, Sabbatical. Released via Heartworm Press, founded by Cold Cave's Wes Eisold. Following acclaimed collaborations, including a remix by Ellen Allien, Rosa now returns with an expanded live line-up featuring a drummer—bringing even more depth, intensity and power to her mesmerizing performances.

Dark, hypnotic and impossible to ignore: we’re thrilled to welcome Laura Krieg to Grauzone festival 2027.

We’ve been following her for a while and are excited to finally bring her unique blend of darkwave, post-punk and “brutalist pop” to the festival.

In 2025 she released her second album Crépuscule on Berlin-based Detriti Records, home for bands such as Molchat Doma, The Serfs and Filmmaker.
