Een terugblik op de slotvoorstelling van de 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦-tour 2026, die afgelopen juni plaatsvond in Rotterdam.

In deze korte film blikken vijf jonge talenten terug op wat 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦 voor hen heeft betekend en hoe het programma hen heeft geholpen zich te ontwikkelen tot professionele dansers.

Het jaarlijkse tourprogramma 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦 is een gezamenlijk initiatief van Holland Dance Festival en Codarts Rotterdam en slaat een brug tussen opleiding en beroepspraktijk. Getalenteerde jonge dansers van Codarts Rotterdam werken samen met choreografen van wereldklasse aan een energieke voorstelling die door heel Nederland toert.

Het programma wordt ondersteund door Stichting Droom en Daad.

A look back at the final show of the 2026 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦 tour, which took place this June in Rotterdam.

In this short film, five young talents reflect on what 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦 has meant to them and how it has helped them grow into professional dancers.

The annual touring programme 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦 is a joint initiative by Holland Dance Festival and Codarts Rotterdam that builds a bridge between education and professional life. Talented young dancers from Codarts Rotterdam work with world-class choreographers to create an energetic performance that tours across the Netherlands.

The programme is supported by the Droom en Daad Foundation.

✨ Een nieuw thuis voor dans krijgt vorm in Rotterdam — Danshuis Rotterdam!

Prachtig nieuws uit Rotterdam: het nieuwe Danshuis Rotterdam krijgt steeds meer vorm. Mede-bedenker van het Danshuis en artistiek directeur van het Holland Dance Festival Samuel Wuersten is nauw betrokken bij de ontwikkeling. MA YANSONG/ MAD DESIGNS, het bureau achter het naastgelegen Fenix museum, ontwerpt het nieuwe gebouw.

De blikvanger wordt de golvende glazen gevel. Vanaf de overkant van het water doet die denken aan een zwierende dansrok: een licht en speels gebaar, als contrast met het robuuste karakter van de oorspronkelijke loods.

“We willen dat het een feestelijke plek wordt,” zegt Laura Dufour, directeur van Danshuis Rotterdam. “Een plek die het plezier van dans uitdraagt. Waar je naartoe gaat voor een avond uit en waar je zelf zin krijgt om te gaan dansen.”

Naar verwachting opent het Danshuis in 2030!

✨A new home for dance is taking shape in Rotterdam. The future Danshuis Rotterdam, with Holland Dance Festival’s Artistic Director, Samuel Wuersten, as its co-initiator, will be designed by MA YANSONG/MAD DESIGNS — the studio behind the neighboring Fenix museum.

With its flowing glass façade, the building seems to move like a dancing skirt across the water. A bold and joyful design that reflects what the Danshuis is all about.

“We want it to be a festive place,” says Laura Dufour, director of Danshuis Rotterdam. “A place that celebrates the joy of dance — where you go for a night out and leave inspired to dance yourself.”

The Danshuis is set to open in 2030. We can’t wait to see it come to life!

Een nieuw seizoen komt eraan en we geven je graag alvast een voorproefje van de HDF-evenementen in september!

Vanuit de samenwerking binnen Europe Beyond Access onderhoudt Holland Dance Festival al jarenlang een bijzondere band met het Colombiaanse dansgezelschap ConCuerpo.

Op 11 september presenteert ConCuerpos in Korzo de Europese voorstelling van FOCARIS: een krachtige en ontroerende productie waarin dans, muziek en toegankelijkheid op vanzelfsprekende wijze samenkomen.

Vuur staat in FOCARIS symbool voor ontmoeting, transformatie en innerlijke kracht. Elke performer – met of zonder beperking – brengt zijn of haar eigen ‘innerlijke vuur’ tot leven door middel van dans, live muziek, geluid en visuele storytelling.

Als onderdeel van het parallelprogramma presenteert ConCuerpos op 10 september twee inclusieve workshops: Powerful Bodies en Water Body.

A new season is coming, and we’re ready to give you a sneak peek at HDF’s upcoming events in September!

Through its longstanding collaboration within Europe Beyond Access , Holland Dance Festival has built a close relationship with the Colombian dance company .

On September 11, ConCuerpos presents the European premiere of FOCARIS at : a powerful and moving performance in which dance, live music and accessibility come together as an integral artistic whole.

In FOCARIS, fire becomes a symbol of encounter, transformation and inner strength. Each performer — with or without a disability — reveals their own inner fire through dance, live music, sound and visual storytelling.

As part of the parallel programme, on September 10, ConCuerpos will present two inclusive workshops: Powerful Bodies and Water Body.

𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 [𝘰𝘭𝘥] 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 — Summer Edition met Poernima Gobardhan. De eerste workshop op 9 juli is al uitverkocht, maar voor 16 juli zijn er nog enkele plaatsen beschikbaar!

Deze zomer introduceren we iets nieuws: een inspirerende kennismaking met de bewegingstaal van choreograaf Poernima Gobardhan. Vanuit dansvormen uit de Hindostaanse diaspora, waaronder Indiase klassieke dans en Surinaamse dans, creëert Poernima werk dat persoonlijke, maatschappelijke en universele menselijke ervaringen onderzoekt.

This summer, we introduce something new: an inspiring introduction to the movement language of choreographer Poernima Gobardhan. Drawing from dance forms of the Hindustani diaspora, including Indian classical and Surinamese dance, Poernima creates work that explores personal, social, and universal human experiences.

Dance is for everyone — that has been Holland Dance Festival’s motto for many years. And 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 [𝘰𝘭𝘥] 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 is one of its best examples.

This annual programme is open to anyone aged 55+, at any level, who wants to enjoy dancing. 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 [𝘰𝘭𝘥] 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 is generously supported by the Kylián Foundation.

The focus of the classes is on dancing together, with joy and openness to new experiences. Led by professional dance associates of Holland Dance Festival, the programme helps develop physical strength, balance, and flexibility.

Het is international Dance Day! Sinds 1987 viert Holland Dance Festival de pracht van een van ’s werelds oudste kunstvormen. Nu, veertig jaar later, is het festival uitgegroeid tot een levend archief dat laat zien hoe dans zich jaar na jaar ontwikkeld en vernieuwd.

Wij feliciteren graag iedereen in de danswereld: van dansliefhebbers tot professionele performers, choreografen en musici, van iedereen achter de schermen tot het publiek.

Als kleine terugblik keren we terug naar de editie van 1998, getiteld 𝘈 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦. Het concept van 𝘈 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦 was gebaseerd op het perspectief van de danser. Tevens was dit het jaar waarin Samuel Wuersten, in zijn huidige rol als artistiek en algemeen directeur van HDF, bij het festival betrokken was.

It’s International Dance Day! Since 1987, Holland Dance Festival has celebrated the beauty of one of the world’s oldest art forms. Forty years on, the festival has become a living archive — witnessing how dance evolves and reinvents itself, year after year.

Congratulations to everyone in the dance world: from dance lovers to professional performers, choreographers and musicians, backstage crews, and the audience.

As a small look back, we return to the 1998 edition, called 𝘈 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦. This was the very first year when Samuel Wuersten, Artistic and Executive Director of HDF, joined the festival in his current role. The idea behind 𝘈 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦 was built around the point of view of the dancer.
