Brutus Roffa Mon Amour is a film platform showing new cinematic talent from around the world.

During our annual open-air film festival Roffa Mon Amour we celebrate cinematic talent from around the world, presenting films at night at a playful location. Roffa Mon Amour thrills and moves you with a selection of colourful, daring films from new and known filmmakers, live Cinema Concerts, introductions and Q&As. Roffa Mon Amour was brought to life to celebrate and enjoy the work of intelligent

, creative and noble directors that dare to challenge their audience to open their mind, to ruminate not swallow, to question never accept. Come and celebrate film with us! Roffa Mon Amour was founded by Charlotte van Zanten and Lisa Smith. It all started with a huge fondness for arthouse cinema and a lacking of diverse programming in Rotterdam which brought them together in 2012. Ever since they have supported world cinema.

Roffa Mon Amour 2026 program is online! 🌖

We're excited to present a selection of 12 films along with special programs of talks, dinners, and live performances. With the theme ‘Mind Work’, we aim to be a place for shared emotion, connection, and growth. Every evening is an invitation to meet new people and new stories, to step out of your comfort zone and into a collective experience.

This edition's program strands include our Q***r Weekender, a focus on New Q***r Cinema master Gregg Araki, the return of Directors in Dialogue, and a selection of films made as love letters to the cities of São Paulo, Beirut, and Luanda.

The program spans 5 continents, with films you'd be unlikely to see in Dutch cinemas otherwise. Among them are four Dutch premieres and two Rotterdam premieres.

Become a jury member of The New Jury! 💫

Want to have a say about films? Be part of a festival jury? Present the New Amour Award?

We are looking for youngsters (18-25 y.o) who will form The New Jury 2026. We give Rotterdam film lovers the opportunity to watch RMA films, decide which filmmaker will take home the New Amour Award, and attend workshops.

What do we offer you?
🌕 The chance to dive into the Roffa MonAmour program
🌗 Full access to the festival from Wednesday 12 August to Sunday 23 August 2026
🌘 Workshops where you learn to watch and analyze films
🌑 The possibility to host a radio show at .radio, talking about the films in competition

Please note that you need to be available on 22, 23,29 July to watch the films and attend the workshops.

Did you see the sun shining and the temperatures getting higher? This means one thing only: summer is coming and so are we!

Mark your calendar because Roffa Mon Amour dates are set, and we're excited to announce that from Wednesday, 12 to Sunday, 23 August, we'll fill the Brutus garden once again with cinematic adventures to move you with a selection of colorful and daring films.
