Roodkapje offers a unique multidisciplinary breeding ground for young talent in a dynamic, riotous and multi-voiced program. Our location is both an exhibition venue, concert hall, nightclub and hamburger restaurant. The cultural program happens in every nook and cranny and from noon till the early morning hours. We believe a hamburger can be art and celebrate both the low- and the high brow. We travel beyond existing art forms and break through boundaries and binaries. Roodkapje was founded in Rotterdam in 2000 by Eric den Hartigh. Over the years, Roodkapje has grown into a multidisciplinary platform for presentation and talent support for young artists, musicians, performers and programmers in the heart of Rotterdam. Roodkapje is multi-voiced, energetic and supportive and offers a space to explore, experiment and execute. At Roodkapje you can move from mosh pit to hacking workshop to delicious (vegan) kapsalon. Our program is mostly produced in-house by the residents in the Hamburger Community of Art and Live. This nine-month residency houses six people every year who develop their ideas supported by Roodkapje’s staff, visiting mentors and experts from the cultural field. The artists and event-programmers work together to create interdisciplinary happenings and publications. These ideas are presented directly to our audience, making the public program into an experimental test-site for unpredictable and unprecedented accidents. Next to the Hamburger Community, Roodkapje works closely together with co-producers and local partners that fit within our vision and who mentor the residents. We would like to highlight Aprils Galleriso by , since it got a bit lost between the moving. This beautiful print is a mix of blue and bright red, resulting in purple tones and trippy red and blue dots.

Cyanne van den Houten (they/she) is a media artist based in the Netherlands who seeks to uncover digital mysteries and make technology’s hidden layers tangible. Their practice is rooted in collaboration, q***r and feminist tech (histories) and a care for (DIY) tools.

De Nieuwe Nederlandse Naïviteit belooft een zinderende avond waarin artiesten elkaar in hoog tempo afwisselen. Met ontnuchterende indieballades van Mark Lotterman, de avantgarde van Citruks en WitMist, de opzwepende gabberpunk van DOMTUIG en nog veel meer.

Broken Hearts is a performance-based event exploring heartbreak in its many forms.

Expect an art market with local makers, food, drinks, objects, and body-based care. During the market two performances take place. Feel free to wander and find what your broken heart desires!

16:00–16:20 Crawling down the throat by Qiao Chu Guo
Breath, skin, and voice slip out of meaning. A visceral landscape where the body distorts, resonates, and leaks beyond itself.

17:00–18:00 Impossible Love Songs by Valentina Vella & Luke {LISA} Deane
Songs that shouldn’t exist, made on the spot. Moving between softness and intensity, intimacy and expansion, with the audience close by.

Throughout the afternoon: Market with local artists, makers, food, drinks, and care-based practices.

Bergmál is a cosmic folk/art pop project based in Rotterdam, created by Bergur Anderson. Bergmál means echo in Icelandic, and literally, it means language of mountains.

It’s a melodic bouncing off-and-around things. It doesn’t sit easily in a musical genre, but follows it’s own eigenweiss nature: playing with the art and form of song.
