The future of Dutch jazz is here. The conference programme includes inspirational panels, workshops, networking sessions and presentations.

inJazz, a catalyst for new developments, is bringing together the supply and demand sides of the Dutch jazz scene, so knowledge and experience can be shared and international relationships formed. During the night, promising Dutch jazz acts, but also more seasoned groups, will hit the stage to show what they’re capable of. They hope to gain new fans and to level up their career. The festival programme is free of charge and can be visited by anyone. For the conference programma a registration is needed.

Dutch jazz takes the spotlight in Finland with Netherjazz.

An initiative by Tampere Jazz Happening, Netherjazz is a focused evening dedicated to showcasing the Dutch jazz scene, bringing together Neon River, Raw Fish and AWICHAS for a night of live music in Klubi.

The programme takes place on Thursday, 29 October, from 19:00–23:00, with free entry.
Elsewhere on the Tampere Jazz Happening programme, you can also catch MESTIZX, Benjamin Herman Trio ft. Tomoski Baba and Beiggja with Kika Sprangers.

Pop & Jazz Hilversum returns for its fourth edition, expanding into a full weekend of live music across the city.

On Saturday, 24 October, Gooiland hosts twelve performances across four stages, with a programme spanning jazz, soul, singer-songwriters and more.

Among the artists taking the injazz stage are HOUSD, Fee Aaij Quartet and Martini Grey, alongside a wider programme of established names and new discoveries.

Pop & Jazz Weekend takes place across Hilversum from 24–25 October.

For our latest edition of Pocket Concerts, we welcomed Utrecht-based trio .multibeat to the studio.

Featuring Boudewijn Pleij on keyboards and Fender Rhodes, Thijs van Zutphen on bass guitar and Aron Smit on drums, .multibeat brings together jazz musicianship, hip-hop beats, R&B and contemporary beat culture.

Drawing inspiration from Robert Glasper, J Dilla and the contemporary UK jazz scene, the trio creates a groove-driven sound that moves freely between jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul and electronic textures, with improvisation and live interaction at its core.

Following the release of OOO (Out Of Office), .multibeat brings its distinctive blend of warm keys, deep bass lines and tight, dynamic drumming to this intimate Pocket Concert.

Giuseppe Doronzo’s KOPER8 presents its new album in Europe this October.

Recorded live at Figure 8 Studios in Brooklyn, KOPER8 brings together an international quartet of distinctive improvisers: Ingrid Laubrock on tenor and soprano saxophone, Giuseppe Doronzo on baritone saxophone and bagpipes, Jannis Anastasakis on guitar and live electronics, and Tom Rainey on drums.

The album released Defkaz Records will be followed by the quartet’s first performances in Europe, with concerts across Greece, the Netherlands and the UK.

The Ghanaian-born, Rotterdam-based trumpeter and composer kicks off an eight-date China tour today, bringing his distinctive blend of jazz, soul, funk and influences from his Ghanaian roots to stages across the country.

The tour follows the release of his latest album Walking Distance, released on ACT Music.

For more than twenty years, Joost Lijbaart carried a quiet ambition: to make a singer-songwriter album shaped by folk, Americana and bluegrass. With Sunflower, that ambition has found its form.

Alongside Amelie and River, the Amsterdam-based drummer steps into a new role as a songwriter. The trio’s debut album, Love Letters, grew from a collaborative process in which all three musicians explored unfamiliar territory, gradually stripping each composition back to its essence.

In our latest interview, Joost reflects on finding Sunflower’s sound, learning to write lyrics and letting go of virtuosity in favour of rhythm, sound and vulnerability.

Dutch jazz was being seen and heard at Orange Jazz Days! Within the sharp festival programme, we hosted our own podcast studio in the smallest room, The Pit, supported by our NPO Luister partner Omroep MAZ. In two afternoons and early evenings we had a bunch of lovely, lively interviews, alongside a whole series of exclusive sessions. Fay Claassen, Teus Nobel, Anton de Bruin, Hermine Deurloo, Guy Salamon, TJ’s Pretty People, North Sea String Quartet: they all came to play for the microphones and sometimes also the cameras of injazz and Buma Cultuur.

You can watch the sessions with Teus Nobel Trio and North Sea String Quartet now on our YouTube channel and website. And, in the coming weeks, you will hear recordings of these sessions in our podcast. Stay tuned!

For our latest edition of Pocket Concerts, we welcomed the Eric Ineke Trio to the studio!

Bringing together three generations of Dutch jazz, the trio unites legendary drummer Eric Ineke with pianist and Fender Rhodes player Juraj Stanik and bassist Cas Jiskoot.

A central figure in Dutch jazz since the 1960s, Ineke has performed with artists including Dexter Gordon, Dizzy Gillespie and Dave Liebman. Together with Stanik and Jiskoot, he creates an intergenerational musical dialogue rooted in bebop, hard bop and a shared understanding of swing.

Will we see you at jazzahead! 2027?

From 22–24 April, jazzahead! returns to Bremen, bringing the international jazz community together for three days of showcases, exchange and new connections. Buma Cultuur and injazz will once again be there with the Dutch injazz stand.

Dutch nationals and international artists living and working in the Netherlands—as well as professionals wishing to join the Dutch stand—can register at a discounted rate of €152 + VAT instead of €190 + VAT. As prices increase over time, early registration is recommended.

Ahead of Orange Jazz Days this weekend, we caught up with Eric Vloeimans, who returns to the festival for a second year this Friday, 2 October.

This time, he takes the stage with HOTSPOT!, a band that breathes new life into his music by bringing together pop, jazz and funk. Expect danceable grooves inspired by James Brown, hypnotic melodies, touches of electronic dance music, and irresistible African and Caribbean rhythms.

Together with bassist and vocalist Phaedra Kwant, drummer Pascal Vermeer, keyboardist Sjoerd van Eijck and guitarist Jêrome Hol, Vloeimans places his subtle trumpet sound within a festive and extroverted musical setting.
