For over 25 years, Oregon doom masters YOB have carved a singular path through heavy music, where colossal riffs, sky-bound vocals, and spiritual depth collide. CONFIRMED - KING WOMAN
King Woman is the vision of Iranian-American singer, songwriter and producer Kristina Esfandiari, whose music draws power from contrast: crushing heaviness, fragile beauty and deeply personal storytelling. Raised in Sacramento in a strict Charismatic Christian household, Esfandiari later moved to the Bay Area and began shaping the emotional core that would define her work. Before King Woman, she sharpened her voice through projects like Whirr and her solo work under Miserable, building a reputation for intense, dramatic performances and fearless songwriting.

What began as a solo project eventually grew into King Woman, a band that channels doom, shoegaze and post-metal into something haunting and immersive. Much of Esfandiari’s writing reflects the tension between faith, doubt, trauma and self-liberation, giving the music a rare sense of honesty beneath its haze of distortion. King Woman have become one of the most distinctive voices in modern heavy music: expansive, vulnerable and unflinchingly cathartic.
