Hey everyone, as last but not least it’s V.U.G.S. it’s turn to introduce ourselves. We are Jorrit and Noa and we both study Human Geography and Spatial Planning at the University of Utrecht. Currently we’re both part of the 100th board of V.U.G.S., where Jorrit fulfils the function of Chair and Noa the function of Secretary. In the NGPS-board Noa stays close to her heart and fulfils the function of Secretary as well, while Jorrit takes a trip to a different function, which is Commissioner Speakers. We’re both very enthusiastic and honoured to organize the NGPS with our sister associations. We hope to see you all in Amsterdam on the 18th of February! Greetings!

Update Speakers - NGPS2021

Stefan de Bruin & Daan van Eijk - Witteveen+Bos

Both private and public parties worldwide call on Witteveen+Bos for the challenges they face. We advise contractors, engineering and architecture firms, energy and drinking water companies, rail and port authorities and the industrial sector. In the public sector, we work for the national government, provinces, municipalities and water boards. The issues we work on concern the entire chain from policy and design to contracting and implementation supervision. Witteveen+Bos strives for lasting relationships with its clients, so that we can relate to the needs and expectations of our clients as well as possible and deliver maximum added value.

Sander de Bruin and Daan van Eijk of Witteveen+Bos (both are Planners) will give a workshop on the spatial integration of a fictitious tourist issue: Three holiday parks are located around the Gieseplas (municipality of Zevenaar). In the summer it is therefore very busy everywhere in the area and there are many tourists. Local residents have complained to the municipality and the municipality will make a plan to merge the three parks at one location.

Lotte Meijhuis

For the past 4 years I have worked as a spatial planner at Witteveen+Bos. With great pleasure, I have advised and guided clients into taking the correct legal planning steps. With my help, many projects, ranging from small to large, have been brought into realization. Drawing up zoning & integration plans, spatial underpinnings and other legally binding documents have been daily routine. In addition to my work as spatial planner, I fulfilled the role of project manager on various occasions.

Recently I have started working as a spatial planner at the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch (provincial capital of Noord-Brabant).

In my presentation I will discuss the daily activities of a spatial planner. Also, I will explain the differences between working for a consultancy and the government and answer questions such as: where do project initiatives come from? How are these implemented? What role does the environment have on the projects? And which role do politicians have? I hope to see you then!
