Lieve Stroomhuis-lovers,
Tijd om jullie wat inzicht te geven in hoe we doorgaan met het Stroomhuis nadat ons geliefde thuis in een hoop puin is veranderd.
In overleg met de gemeente is gister besloten de overgebleven muren af te breken vanwege instortingsgevaar. Dat is met ons besproken en wij staan unaniem achter deze beslissing. Spullen die gered kunnen worden zal de gemeente voor ons op een aparte lokatie verzamelen.
Veel mensen willen graag weten hoe de brand ontstaan is. Dat zal helaas nooit met zekerheid vast te stellen zijn. Wel duidelijk is dat de brand pas echt begon toen de CV ketel ontplofte, door wat voor oorzaak dan ook. Brandstichting is in elk geval uitgesloten. We zijn allemaal ontzettend blij dat er niemand iets is overkomen.
Vlak voor de brand stonden de gemeente Eindhoven en Stroomhuis / Amaro Creative Industries op het punt om een samenwerkingsovereenkomst voor de komende 15-20 jaar te tekenen. Het Stroomhuis zou een cruciale rol gaan spelen in de ontwikkeling van de Spoorzone. In die onderhandelingen was al sprake van het betrekken van de parkeergarage en het parkeerdek naast het Stroomhuis. We willen het Stroomhuis zo snel als kan op deze plek voortzetten.
Met de fundraiser willen we de gebruikers van Stroomhuis helpen om hun activiteiten voort te zetten. Daarbij horen tijdelijke studios en een doorstart op onze geliefde locatie.
We zullen een agenda bijhouden op onze social media met activiteiten georganiseerd door Stroomhuis-supporters, zowel lokaal als internationaal. Stroomhuis gaat door zonder subsidie van de gemeente. Stroomhuis vervult al 25 jaar een unieke rol in de gemeenschap, en dat willen we blijven doen – zonder afhankelijkheid.
Dank aan onze vrienden van Downtown Palmela, de organisatoren van de NoFun-draiser, Burgers, de Design Academy, Effenaar en zovelen meer. De hartverwarmende steun vanuit alle hoeken van de wereld, van over de hele wereld tot andere continenten aan toe, geeft ons de kracht om door te gaan.

Dear Stroomhuis Lovers,
It’s time to share some insights on how we are moving forward with Stroomhuis after our beloved second home has turned into rubble. In consultation with the municipality, it was decided yesterday to demolish the remaining walls due to the risk of collapse. This decision was discussed with us, and we unanimously support it. The municipality will collect items that can be salvaged and store them at a separate location for us.
Many people are eager to know how the fire started. Unfortunately, it will never be possible to determine this with certainty. What is clear is that the fire only really began when the boiler exploded, for reasons unknown. Arson has been ruled out. We are all incredibly relieved that no one was harmed.
Just before the fire, the municipality of Eindhoven and Stroomhuis / Amaro Creative Industries were on the verge of signing a cooperation agreement for the next 15-20 years. Stroomhuis was set to play a crucial role in the development of the Spoorzone. These negotiations already included the involvement of the parking garage and the parking deck next to Stroomhuis. We aim to continue Stroomhuis as soon as possible at this location.
With the fundraiser, we want to help the users of Stroomhuis continue their activities. This includes temporary studios and a restart at our beloved location. We will keep an agenda on our social media with activities organized by Stroomhuis supporters, both locally and internationally. Stroomhuis will continue without subsidies from the municipality. For 25 years, Stroomhuis has played a unique role in the community, and we intend to keep doing so – without dependency.
