๐๐โโ๏ธ Learning by watching can boost performance.
Did you know that children can improve their swimming performance simply by watching instructional videos? ๐คฏ
In this project from Carola Minkels, she compared different types of videos (watching themselves, watching an edited version highlighting their best moments, or watching another swimmer slightly more skilled) and found something surprising: every type of video helped equally. What matters isnโt who appears in the video, but paying attention to the movement.
๐ What we discovered:
โ
Children who watched instructional videos improved more than those who didnโt.
โ
The biggest improvement was in swimming time, not technique.
โ
Motivation didnโt change from watching videos โ the improvement is cognitive, not motivational.
In short:
โก๏ธ Observe + understand = learn faster.
Technology not only makes lessons more engaging โ it also enhances learning in a smart and effective way. ๐ก
