History is being made here in Eindhoven.

Yesterday, Rudra United and the city of Eindhoven hosted their first ever Eerste Divisie match. Badminton at the second-highest level in the Netherlands, in our own hall, for the first time.

And what a way to start: Rudra United 1 beat GO! BC 1 by 7–1 and now sit top of the poule.

It was the biggest match day in the club's history. Twelve teams played at home at the Indoor Sport Centrum on one day — six senior teams from the sixth division up to the eerste divisie, and six youth teams. From nine in the morning until late afternoon, every court was busy.

Four of our six senior teams now lead their poule.

We got here with players we developed and welcomed ourselves: Dutch players who grew up in this region, and international players who came to Eindhoven to study and work and wanted a club that takes competition seriously. Hopefully one day we will reach the Eredivisie. And we want to get there with the young kids who are training in our halls right now.

Thank you to every volunteer who set up the halls, ran the score tables, kept the coffee coming and cleared up afterwards. And to every parent, partner and friend who came to watch and made it loud. This is your day too.

All in close collaboration with Badminton Nederland and Parmant Joris Topsport Talent (LOOT) School to work towards producing Badminton talent for the Netherlands.

And it doesn’t stop at youth level: our own club, Rudra United with 150+ members, competes in the Eerste Divisie — the Netherlands’ 1st division. That’s the path our young players can see themselves walking, because it’s right here.

Van Eindhoven naar Aichi: Sport verbindt werelden! 🏸🇯🇵

Bij de Eindhoven Badminton Academy geloven we dat sport geen grenzen kent. Onze speelster Ridhima brengt dit momenteel prachtig in de praktijk tijdens haar trainingsreis in Japan!

Zij kreeg een fantastisch en warm welkom bij Shikatsu Jr Badmintonclub in Aichi, waar ze samen met een grote groep lokale talenten op de baan stond (zie de groepsfoto!).

Daarnaast traint ze intensief met haar Japanse trainer Kyoji-san om haar spel naar een hoger niveau te tillen.

Deze unieke ervaring laat zien dat passie voor badminton een universele taal is die culturen overbrugt en internationale vriendschappen opbouwt.

We zijn enorm trots op Ridhima’s inzet en ontzettend dankbaar voor de geweldige gastvrijheid van de club in Japan!

From Eindhoven to Aichi: Sport Connects Worlds! 🏸🇯🇵

At the Eindhoven Badminton Academy, we believe that sport knows no borders. Our player Ridhima is currently putting this into practice beautifully during her training trip to Japan!

She received a fantastic and warm welcome at the Shikatsu Jr Badminton Club in Aichi, where she shared the court with a large group of local talents (as seen in the group photo!).

In addition, she is training intensively with her Japanese coach Kyoji-san to take her game to the next level.

This unique experience shows that a passion for badminton is a universal language that bridges cultures and builds international friendships.

We are incredibly proud of Ridhima’s dedication and deeply grateful for the amazing hospitality of the club in Japan!

Fast wall hitting drills are one of the best badminton exercises that we can use to improve speed, wrist power, reaction time, arm strength, and acceleration.
If we want to increase our accuracy and shot control, we can also set some targets on the wall and try to hit them consistently.👍🏻
