B-movie, Underground en Trash Film Festival

Fans of bizar, experimental or otherwise distorting movies are served every year at the festival for B-movies, Underground and Trash films (BUTFF). BUTFF is an initiative of Stichting Idee-fixe. This non-profit foundation aims to get a larger audience for artistic photo's, video's, film and modern digital media. The foundation wants to achieve this by mediating between public and artists, publishers and/or distributors. BUTFF shows films that differs a lot from the mainstream cinema. Films that surprise you by their deviating structure, taste and context.

Directed by Michael Mak Tong-Kit, who is also known for his work on Everstanding Love (1984) and Island of Greed (1997).

This Hong Kong martial arts film follows an agent and his international crime fighting organization to unkidnapp a princess.

A little introduction to BUTplugged:

Every month, on a Wednesday evening, Chassé Cinema in Breda opens one of its rooms for BUTplugged: a special programme by BUT Film Festival, digging into its mysterious archive of 35mm and 16mm films.

But there’s more: before each screening, we put three trailers to the vote. You get to exercise your democratic power and decide which film we’ll show at the next BUTplugged!

Previous BUTplugged screenings have included cult gems such as The Beyond (Lucio Fulci, 1981), Monster Shark (Lamberto Bava, 1984) and Blue Rita / Das Frauenhaus (Jesús Franco, 1971).
