A room. A handful of makers we have never met, showing the work that has been waiting in them.

No pitch deck. Just the work. As it actually is.

Makers who land well get a paid spot at a future Open Spirit, a booking at the Spirit festival, or another collaboration with us.

But that is not the reason to apply.

The reason is the room. The reason is the night. The reason is that something in you has been quietly waiting for the right time and the right floor.

This might be it.

“What did we share before we lost each other?”

Long before colonialism and Christianity rewrote the script, people in Africa and the Netherlands shared a relationship with sound, ritual, and nature.

The same universal gestures: washing, gathering, cooking, praying.

The Keizersgrachtkerk will become a live research floor. We are looking directly at what was shared, what was silenced, and what remains inside us.

music is an acclaimed international vocalist and musicologist who brings a powerful mastery of vocal looping, chanting, and traditional strings to the live experience.

Lieke Dijkstra (performing as ) is an accomplished experimental multi-instrumentalist and vocalist known for crafting deeply evocative, atmospheric compositions.

“Trust that isn’t scripted”

Last month, you filled the circle at the Keizersgrachtkerk. You told us that: “This night, I felt the city’s noise fading away and the evening light changing through the stained glass”.

A soft landing for many. We are bringing together a new group of makers to explore what happens when we set the script aside and trust our intuition. The gut feelings.

On Tuesday, June 16, we return to the same holy place.

The beauty of this evening was in the sight of q***r makers and the church community joining forces to celebrate freedom.

It was a full house for the Freedom Meal.

There was something incredibly powerful about seeing this sold-out table come to life on May 5th. Young and old, long-time church members and new faces, all sitting together to share a meal and celebrate what freedom means today.

A massive thank you to curator for bringing such a thoughtful program to the Keizersgrachtkerk, and to our makers for their moving performances:

Special thanks to Reverend Annelies Jans for her foreword on the sanctuary and history of this building, and to everyone who worked behind the scenes on the food and service.

It was a beautiful reminder that when we open our doors and our hearts, we create a space where everyone feels welcome.

Still processing Thursday night.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Open Spirit night. Seeing the Keizersgrachtkerk fill up with so much warmth and quiet energy was exactly what we hoped for.

To the eight makers who trusted the circle and shared their craft with us, thank you for your talent and your presence.

It is a start to something special. See you in the circle again soon.

We’re settling into a new space.

Over the past year, we’ve been reflecting on what these walls on the Keizersgracht could mean for the city. A place to catch your breath. A place where the script hasn’t been written yet.

The Keizersgrachtkerk is our first permanent home base. We see it as an extension of the city: an ‘urban living room’ where we can explore what truly moves us, together.

This Thursday, we begin with our first evening: eight makers, one theme: Solace.
