Our hearts are still so full with joy after this year's festival! Thank you if you were with us from the beginning till the very end, or if you just joined us for a moment! And of course we'll see each other again next year - in November 2026. ✨

For the talk today, we look at the ones who choose to step outside of the rules! Who is he, a modern day fool?

For this talk were joined by two guests: our dear friend Marijn Vissers who is someone who can never run out of stories to tell, and who is never afraid to act foolish - even if it's in front of the queen!

Our second guest is August Dirks who sailed the world with his Ship of Fools, taking artists and performers with him. “The fool rings his bells whenever he wants – I’ll keep doing that until my last breath.”

Every year we organize exciting and insightful talks with artists of the festival, scientists, and experts in various disciplines. This year, of course, it's all about the fool: from ancient archetypes to current times.

Today at 17:00 you can join us for the talk 'The Fool in Myth & Folklore'. From Loki to Nasreddin, in this talk we trace how cultures across time gave the fool the power to question, disrupt, and reveal hidden truths through story.

We're joined by Paul Groos!

A classicist by education, when it comes to storytelling Paul Groos specialises in ancient mythology. That’s not to say that he doesn’t know his way around other folktales and different stories. Educated at the Vertelacademie in Utrecht and the Podiumacademie in Lier, he enjoys telling stories in schools, museums and at festivals. And because he is a teacher at heart, he loves teaching workshops and giving talks.

A brilliant opening full of fools! 🥂✨

Yesterday we officially kicked off a new edition of our festival, and in what amazing company! Mysterious mask of a moon guided by cello music, silly and crazy fun hungry characters of Comedia dell'arte brought to life by a scientist's lecture, stories of taking risks and trying to establish world peace, and of course, Romanian songs and music that just begs you to dance! And dance we did, and the party carried over from upstairs into the foyer of for more and more hours of happy celebration...

And of course, that's only the beginning - so come join us for three more days full of shows and music and meeting wonderful strangers!
