TranScreen: the Amsterdam Transgender Film Festival, is a community festival for, with, about and by transgender people & allies. TranScreen shows a wide range of films and art by/about transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender-diverse people. Works that dare challenge and engage with our societies’ views on gender and other issues that intersect with transgender experiences such as identity, race, age, ability, nationality, or tradition.

TranScreen 2026: Save the date!

Op 16 en 17 mei zal TranScreen terugkeren in onze thuishavens Kriterion en Dynamo Jongeren - JACO. Het tweedaagse festival brengt films vanuit de hele wereld voor en door transgender en non-binaire mensen. Ook zijn er nagesprekken, workshops en een borrel.

On May 16 and 17, TranScreen will return to our home bases Kriterion and JACO. The two-day festival showcases films from around the world by and for transgender and non-binary people. There will also be post-screening discussions, workshops, and a social gathering.

Featuring the original cast, creatives and other pop culture legends (including maker Richard O’Brien, stars like Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, and current icons like Trixie Mattel) that shed light on the many impacts of the cult film.

Directed by the son of the original show’s creator, this documentary is a true ode to a project that for dozens of years has offered a safe space to outcasts, and still has people all over the world doing the Time Warp, Again.

Helaas nemen we afscheid van iemand die veel meer was dan onze penningmeester. Jan Willem bracht rust, helderheid en vertrouwen in alles wat hij deed.
Zijn inzet was nooit voor de vorm, altijd vanuit zijn hart. Zijn toewijding was stil, maar onmisbaar.
We zijn dankbaar voor alles wat hij voor ons heeft betekend. We zullen zijn betrokkenheid en menselijkheid blijven meedragen.

Als mens was hij uniek, als professional geduldig, als vriend daar waar nodig.

Jan Willem; we gaan je missen.

Sadly, we say goodbye to someone who was so much more than just our treasurer. Jan Willem brought peace, clarity, and confidence to everything he did.
His dedication was never mere appearances, always from the heart. His devotion was quiet, yet indispensable.
We are grateful for everything he meant to us. We will always cherish his commitment and humanity.

As a person, he was unique, as a professional, patient, and a friend when needed.

Jan Willem; we will miss you.
