Dear Karate-friends,
Please find below the latest information regarding the 7th Hayashi Int. Amsterdam Karate Cup, which will be held this upcoming weekend. Please share this information with your competitors, their parents, and all your team/coaches.
Timetable & Draws
You can consult the Timetable from today in the Downloads section. The draws will be published on Sportdata by December 17th. Please bring your own hard copies.
Payment
A friendly reminder for all clubs that haven’t paid (their full amount) for participation. The payment deadline is December 16th. Please transfer to the account mentioned in the bulletin. Thanks for your co-operation.
Registration
The official registration will take place at the registration desk (1 representative per club): Friday 19 December from 19h00-21h00 Saturday 20 December from 11h00 Sunday 21 December from 07h30
Changes
During registration it will be possible to change a category due to a change in weight and add coaches. There will be a handling fee of €15,00 per change. Deleting a competitor during the onsite registration session does not entitle to a refund of the entry fee - 100% of the entry fee must still be paid. Thank you for your understanding.
Weigh-in
Weigh-in is mandatory for all male and female kumite categories cadet, junior & u21. For the categories u10, u12 & u14 weigh-in will be random. Tolerance for all participants: 500 gram (max. two attempts). The weigh-in room (level -1) will be open: Friday 19 December from 19h00-21h00 Saturday 20 December from 11h00-16h00 Sunday 21 December from 07h30-10h30
Accreditation/Presence
Accreditation must be worn at all times during the event. Please ensure that all athletes must be accredited (and weighed) at least 90 min. before the start of their category. We operate in shifts. Athletes may enter the warm-up area starting 60 minutes before the start of their category and are expected to be present from that time: All participants for Kata (u10 to u21) & Para-Karate (all categories) can come directly to the competition area (Sporthal 1) for the control process with their accreditation. All participants for Kata seniors & Kumite (all categories) can check in for the control process with their accreditation in the warm-up area/callroom (dojo, level -1). A chaperone will accompany the athletes to the competition area from the callroom. Each tatami has its chaperone. Competitors who miss three calls will be disqualified.
Competition Kata & Kumite
We will apply WKF rules with repechages and two third places for all categories Kata & Kumite. For Kata we will use the flag system. For kata categories u10 & u12, both competitors will be on the tatami simultaneously. The kata repeat pattern is AB and the kata list of KBN/WKF will apply. From the u14 category, competitors will show their kata alternately. The kata repeat pattern is ABCD and the WKF kata list will apply.
Competition format Para-Karate
For Para-Karate we will also use the flag system. Competition system:
- 2 competitors: Best of three system
- 3 or 4 competitors: Round-robin system
- 5 competitors or more: Double elimination system
Protection
Kumite and kata karate-gi's with the brand name embroidered in red and blue on the shoulders are optional (not mandatory). We fully comply with the regulations regarding protective equipment:
1. Body protection is mandatory for all competitors. Body or chest protector - white and WKF approved - to be worn over the karate-gi for competitors under 14 years of age.
2. Protective helmets (white & WKF approved) are mandatory for all competitors under 14 years of age. Athletes who own a white WKF approved helmet are requested to bring their own helmet. For athletes who do not have their own, white helmets will be provided at all tatami’s.
Seminar Abdalla Abdelaziz
Yorgelis Salazar is unfortunately unable to leave Venezuela to come to Amsterdam. Air traffic around Venezuela has been halted due to rising international tensions and airspace security warnings. Fortunately, we’ve found a worthy replacement: Abdalla Abdelaziz (current world champion -75kg from Egypt) will be leading the seminars this coming Saturday. We will have a separate registration desk near the Dojo for participants for the seminars (opening hours: 12h15-14h15). session 1 (up to 11 years): 13h00-14h15 session 2 (from 12 years): 14h15-15h30 | note: time has been changed!
The first session has a few spots left; the second session is sold out.
Coaches & officials
Coaches and other officials must wear their accreditation visibly; coaches must be in tracksuits.
Bouts duration
u10: 1 min. | u12/u14: 1,5 min. | u16/u18/u21: 2 min. | seniors 3 min.
Note: competitors are entitled to a rest period between bouts equal to the standard duration of the bout in the respective age category.
Protest fee

Referees
We are pleased to have a large team of international referees at our event. Mr. Diyako Yektaei (BEL) will be the referee chairman for the weekend.
Venue/Parking
We recommend that all visitors enter ‘Sportcentrum Caland’ as the destination in Google Maps. Parking is available around the sports center, and if these spaces are full, ample public parking is available on nearby streets. On Saturdays, street parking is paid; on Sundays, it is free. Please be aware that parking directly at the sports center may be congested. However, there are plenty of alternative parking options in the surrounding area. For buses, a designated drop-off zone is provided, supervised on-site by traffic marshals. Buses can be parked elsewhere afterwards.
Entrance
- Accredited persons & 0-5 years: free | 6-11 years: € 5,00 (1 day) & €8,75 (2 days) | from 12 years: €10,00 (1 day) & €17,50 (2 days)
- Restaurant will be open on Friday from 18h30, Saturday from 11h00 and Sunday from 07h30 with food and drinks at reasonable prices.
- Please note: only cash payments will be possible at both the ticket office and restaurant.
Sales
Hayashi will be present in the sportscenter and welcome you with great offers.
Fun & Games Zone
We kindly ask large delegations to come to the sports hall on Saturday only with athletes who are competing that day, due to limited seating capacity. On Sunday, a Fun & Games Zone will be set up for the youngest participants.
