This is not a circus Ontdek van 27 jan t/m 31 jan 2026 nieuwe circusvormen. Een festival van TENT in 5 theaters in Amsterdam. Het festival brengt een frisse kijk op circus.

Meesterlijk jongleren met cirkelzagen, acrobatiek op vier meter hoogte, mind tricks door illusionisten en vooral: onbegrensd circus. This is not a circus maakte een ultieme selectie van voorstellingen waarin artiesten meerdere passies integreren. De wereld is hun inspiratie en het werk is doorspekt met invloeden uit mime, theater, dans en zelfs het vakmanschap.

Polyfonie, zweven, haarhangen: in deze serene en intrigerende voorstelling komen circus en muziektheater samen. De teksten zijn gebaseerd op geschriften van vrouwelijke mystica zoals Hildegard von Bingen hebben overgeleverd.

Polyphony, floating, hair hanging: circus and musical theatre come together in this serene and intriguing performance. The texts are based on writings handed down by female mystics such as Hildegard von Bingen.

The thunderous applause from the generous audience at Theater De Landing was more than deserved. Yesterday marked the premiere of The Kettle Is Always On, a true pleasure to witness. Congratulations to Melody and Lily of Nolanders and a big thanks to Theater De Landing, crew and audiences! Tonight we are heading to de Brakke Grond.
•
Het daverende applaus van het gulle publiek in Theater De Landing was meer dan terecht. Gisteren ging The Kettle Is Always On in première, dat was genieten. Van harte gefeliciteerd Melody en Lily van Nolanders. Het publiek werd vooraf verwend met een uniek samenspel van cyrwiel en harp door Lotte Sterringa en Lily Azur, terwijl ook onze snoepmeisjes met hun printcamera’s klaarstonden.

Vanavond verhuizen we naar Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond. Voor vanavond zijn we uitverkocht, maar check vooral ons programma op zaterdag!

The crew has arrived!

Samen met lichtontwerper Cerian Mason en muziek- en sound ontwerper Luke Dean werd de laatste hand gelegd aan The Kettle is Always On. We. tellen de uren af naar de première en zetten de ketel alvast op het vuur. toi toi toi Lily en Melody / Nolanders!

Together with light designer Cerian Mason and music and sound designer Luke Dean, the finishing touches were put on The Kettle is Always On. We are counting down the hours until the premiere and putting the kettle on. Toi, toi, toi Lily and Melody / Nolanders!

Vanavond zijn we om 20:30 te zien in CC Amstel met SENESCENCE geprezen met 'keuze van de criticus' van de Theaterkrant:
"Acrobatiek, performancekunst en klassieke mechanica ontmoeten elkaar .... In zijn verwoede pogingen om een rondtollende installatie te bedwingen reflecteert Camiel Corneille op het ouder wordende lichaam."
