Talent development platform Super-Sonic Jazz started in 2016 as a series of concerts and club nights at the legendary venue Paradiso Amsterdam to provide a stage for the new wave of contemporary jazz musicians in the city. An annual festival and the launch of the independent record label Super-Sonic Jazz Records followed. With experimental programming that blends traditional jazz with contemporary genres such as hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B and electronic music, Super-Sonic Jazz pushes the boundaries of what jazz culture means to listeners, enthusiasts and artists alike.

Saturday 21 November, Grammy Award-winning trumpet player and part of Ezra Collective, Ife Ogunjobi () takes the stage at Paradiso for Super-Sonic Jazz Festival!

One of the standout figures in today’s UK jazz scene. Raised in South East London with Nigerian roots, Ife draws on jazz, afrobeat and fuji to create a sound that connects his heritage with a contemporary perspective.

Now bringing his own sound to Amsterdam, Ife Ogunjobi joins the line-up for Super-Sonic Jazz Festival.

Following the first edition of Super-Sonic Jam: ‘In the Name of the Moluccan Diaspora’ at Skatecafe, the movement expands into the Main Hall of Paradiso on Sunday, September 20. Once again, multiple generations of Moluccan musicians are joining forces for a deep-dive session rooted in musical lineage, celebration, family heritage, and tradition.
This edition features a legendary special guest: Massada. We caught up with bandleader Johnny Manuhutu to talk about their first time on the Paradiso stage back at 1975 and the rich history behind their sound.

From a five-day residency in Vlieland to the stages of Into The Great Wide Open, the artists participating in the Super-Sonic Series project brought some of their new tracks to live for the first time. They wove their new material into a jam session with Dune Sessions, giving the audience a first glimpse of the music that’s part of the Super-Sonic Series compilation album.

French-Senegalese artist Anaiis is coming to Super-Sonic Jazz Festival on Friday, November 20th.
Her album Devotion & The Black Divine marks a new chapter shaped by transformation, new motherhood, and a deeper trust in intuition. As she shared in our interview, her shows feel sacred because of the way the audience interacts with her.

We spoke to her in March when she played the upstairs room. Now, she is excited to return and play in the big room, and we are just as excited to have her back.

Recording with spoken-word artist Sydney Lowell for the Super-Sonic Series project. What started with a writing camp evolved into a studio recording, eventually becoming a compilation album where 13 artists from the Super-Sonic Jazz family each take the lead in bringing one composition to life.
For her track, Sydney invited a cosmic band of Diana Sidibé, Ranie Ribeiro, Ruben Croes & Gino-Cochise to record at The Womb Studio in The Hague.

Yesterday’s Super-Sonic Series X Dune Sessions X ITGWO show rehearsal. Our rehearsal space got canceled but luckily Skatecafe Karin & Yvonne came to the rescue, big ups!

The band is ready to return to Vlieland and give you a preview of what is to come for the Super-Sonic Series compilation album.
