WE ARE ALL SUFFERING — BUT ONLY TERRORISTS CHOOSE THE GUN
Sheikh Gumi says bandits and terrorists should be negotiated with because they are “victims of government neglect.”
But let’s speak the truth boldly: every Nigerian is a victim of government neglect.
The difference is simple — the rest of us do not pick up guns to kill, kidnap, and destroy.
Across Nigeria, citizens face the same abandonment:
Farmers cannot farm.
Students cannot learn.
Traders cannot transport goods.
Workers cannot survive on their salaries.
Entire communities live without electricity, water, or security.
If neglect alone was the reason for violence, Nigeria would have 200 million armed fighters.
But no — it is only a small group hiding behind religion, ethnicity, and false narratives that chooses to terrorize innocent people.
Let’s stop pretending.
Banditry is not a cry for help.
It is a criminal enterprise.
It is terrorism.
It is war against the Nigerian people.
Any political or religious leader defending terrorists is sending a loud message:
he stands with killers, not with the victims.
And what about the millions of peaceful Nigerians?
What about the mothers who bury their children?
What about the farmers chased from their land?
What about students kidnapped from their schools?
Are they also not victims of government neglect?
Why should sympathy be reserved for men carrying AK-47s while their victims get mass graves?
Nigeria must stop pampering those who spill innocent blood.
No nation negotiates itself into peace with terrorists.
Peace is built on justice, not fear.
On accountability, not excuses.
Let it be known:
We are all suffering.
We are all neglected.
But we do not all become monsters.
If Nigeria is to survive, the era of defending violent criminals must end.
Not tomorrow.
Not next month.
Now.
