The Last Bottle of Tigernut!

A Story Inspired by Emybecks.

At Emybecks Cakes and Events Management, we don't just sell products; we serve people. One of our most loved products is our freshly made tigernut drink.
There was a particular customer, an elderly woman, who bought tigernut from me every week. She always said it reminded her of the homemade drinks she enjoyed when she was younger.
Whenever she came around, she would smile and say, "My daughter, don't forget my extra bottle."
One Friday, she placed her usual order. As always, the tigernut was prepared with care and packaged neatly. She promised to stop by the next day to pick it up.
Saturday came, but she didn't show up.
Thinking she was busy, we waited.
Later that evening, a young man walked into the shop. His eyes were red from crying.
He introduced himself as her son.
With a shaky voice, he said, "My mother passed away last night. She spoke about picking up her tigernut from Emybecks before she slept."
The room fell silent.
The bottle we had prepared was still sitting in the refrigerator, untouched.
For a moment, it was no longer just a drink. It became a reminder that life can change without warning.
The son collected the bottle and thanked us for always making his mother happy. Before leaving, he said,
"She loved your tigernut. Every week, she looked forward to it."
After he left, everyone at Emybecks felt the weight of his words. We realized that sometimes what seems like a simple product may be a source of joy in someone's life.
That untouched bottle remained in our hearts long after it was gone.

Lesson
As business owners, we often focus on sales and profits. But behind every order is a human being, a family, and a story. We may never know how much a small act of kindness or a simple bottle of tigernut means to someone.

The Little Mistake That Changed Everything.

A Decorator's Story from Emybecks Cakes and Events Management.

As an event decorator, I've learned that sometimes the smallest mistakes can have the biggest impact.
One day, i was hired to decorate a wedding reception. We arrived early, set up the backdrop, arranged the chairs, draped the fabrics, and placed the flowers beautifully.
Everything looked perfect.
Just before the couple arrived, I noticed something that made my heart skip.
The names on the welcome sign had been arranged incorrectly.
One letter had been misplaced, completely changing the bride's surname.
It seemed like a small error, but guests had already started taking pictures with the sign.
I immediately had the team remove it and correct the mistake before the couple entered the venue.
Thankfully, we caught it in time, but it taught us a valuable lesson: in decoration, details matter.
A misplaced flower, a crooked backdrop, a wrong name, or an uneven table setting may seem small, but clients notice these things because their special day matters to them.
Since then, i made it a habit to double-check every name, every spelling, and every detail before handing over a venue.

The Day We Ruined a Cake!
A True Baker's Lesson from Emybecks Cakes and Events Management.

Every baker has a story they wish never happened. This is one of mine.
It was a very busy day at Emybecks Cakes and Events Management. Orders were pouring in, and everyone was working hard to meet delivery deadlines.
One particular cake was for an important client. The cake had been baked and placed in the oven, and all that was left was for it to finish baking properly before decoration.
Because of the rush and pressure, one of my workers assumed the cake was ready and removed it from the oven before the baking time was complete.
At first, everything looked fine.
But when we tried to level and decorate the cake, disaster struck.
The center was still underbaked.
The cake began to sink.
The layers broke apart.
The texture became sticky and impossible to work with.
Hours of effort, ingredients, electricity, and money were wasted.
My heart sank as I looked at the ruined cake. The client was expecting delivery soon, and we had to start all over again from scratch.
There was frustration, disappointment, and even tears. Not because of the money alone, but because we take pride in delivering quality to our customers.
That day taught everyone at Emybecks a valuable lesson:
Never rush the process.
No matter how busy the day is, a cake must be given the time it needs to bake properly. Cutting corners often creates bigger problems than the time you think you're saving.

Today, whenever new staff join our team, I tell them about "the cake that wasn't done." It reminds us that patience and attention to detail are just as important as baking skills.
