Money Bag Small Chops Recipe
Ingredients
For the Filling:
• 4 tbsp vegetable oil
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• ½ cup cabbage, shredded
• 300g cooked chicken, shredded
• ½ cup carrot, grated
• Salt to taste
• Green and red bell peppers, diced
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
For the Wrap:
• 1½ cups all-purpose flour
• ⅓ cup water
• A pinch of salt
• 1 tbsp sugar
• Spring onion stalks (green part only)
PROCEDURE
1. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
2. Sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
3. Add the cabbage, carrot, and bell peppers. Cook for 3–5 minutes until tender.
4. Add the shredded chicken, soy sauce, and salt.
Stir well and cook for another 2–3 minutes. Set aside to cool.
5. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
6. Gradually add water and mix until a smooth batter forms.
7. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.
8. Pour a small amount of batter into the skillet, spreading it thinly like a crepe.
9. Cook for 1–2 minutes until set. Remove and repeat for the remaining batter.
10. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrap.
11. Gather the edges to form a purse shape and tie with a spring onion stalk. Trim any excess ends.
12. Heat enough vegetable oil in a frying pan or deep fryer over medium-high heat.
13. Once hot, fry the money bags in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 3–4 minutes).
14. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
