OGBALIDO: THE FEAST OF THE BRAVE

Before Ofala roars to life, the warriors gather.

Ogbalido is a sacred feast of atonement reserved for the Ndichie - the redcap chiefs, and ndi egbenu oba (The great hunters of Onitsha). It is a time to cleanse, renew, and strengthen the men entrusted with guarding the honour and traditions of the kingdom.

Beyond atonement, Ogbalido is also a moment of order and accountability, as the senior redcap chiefs review those beneath their command.

No crowds. No spectacle. Just tradition, discipline, and renewal.
