Igbo Olodumare (which translates to "The Forest of the Almighty") is a famous Yoruba novel written by D.O. Fagunwa in 1949. It is one of the earliest and most influential works of Nigerian literature, blending folklore, adventure, and morality.

The story follows Akara-Ogun, a brave hunter, as he embarks on a journey into the mysterious and supernatural forest known as Igbo Olodumare. This forest is filled with strange creatures, spirits, and mythical beings that test his courage, wisdom, and morality. Throughout his journey, Akara-Ogun encounters challenges, meets other travelers, and learns profound lessons about life, destiny, and the consequences of human actions.

The novel is deeply rooted in Yoruba mythology and oral storytelling traditions, making it a classic in African literature. It has inspired many writers, including Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, who translated it into English as The Forest of a Thousand Daemons.
